Rappahannock Education Farm has started to plant their first fall garden on about 1/5 of an acre on newly acquired 9 acres of land on White Oak Road in Stafford. Volunteers on Saturday morning, under a hot sun, created rows. In the ground: cucumbers, zucchini and collards. Kale will soon be planted A deer fence is being constructed around the garden too.
All food grown is provided to those in the community who need it. Right now, a garden at the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank has provided over 15-hundred pounds of vegetables.
