A Fredericksburg juvenile is facing a charge of felony possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics and unlawful possession of marijuana while under the age of 18 after falsely claiming to have been shot in the leg.
The Fredericksburg Police Department received a 911 call Tuesday morning at 12:06 a.m. reporting a shooting with an injury in the 1000 block of Rampasture Drive. The juvenile said they heard gunshots outside their home. Police officers and emergency personnel responded and found the 16 year old resident on the floor in a bedroom claiming to have been shot in the leg. However, an initial examination showed no visible gunshot wound. The juvenile was taken to a nearby hospital and was medically cleared.
Further investigation revealed that four rounds were fired into the home, and no one was injured. It was later determined by detectives that the juvenile was in possession of a firearm and marijuana. After the youth was medically cleared, they were taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.

1100 block of Dunning Mills Road, July 10, a person reported their vehicle was stolen.
