The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on Warrenton Road.

On July 21, at approximately 12:13 a.m. Deputy C.A. Osborne responded to the area of Warrenton Road and Village Parkway for a shooting. The victim advised his vehicle was shot while traveling home but he was not injured.

Deputies said the victim was traveling on Warrenton Road in the area of Plantation Drive and Village Parkway when he merged into the left lane, causing a motorcyclist to swerve onto the shoulder. When the victim and motorcyclist stopped at a red light, the motorcyclist got off his bike and approached the victim. Before words were exchanged, the traffic light turned green and the victim drove off. That is when he heard two “pops.” When the victim arrived home, he discovered his vehicle had two bullet holes in it.

The motorcyclist was described as wearing a black and white motorcycle jacket with a white helmet. The bike was described as a sports bike. If anyone has any information, please contact Detective K.A. Lawrence at 540-658-4450.


The following crimes were reported to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office from July 17-22:

  • ASSAULT Marriott Courtyard, 375 Corporate Drive, 7/20, 12:22 a.m. Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to an assault. An intoxicated person allegedly assaulted and strangled the victim after a conversation. The suspect was charged with public intoxication, assault and battery, and strangulation. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
  • DISTURBANCE Woodland Drive, 7/16, 1:00 a.m. Deputies responded to a noise complaint of loud music, screaming and revving engines. The 60-year-old resident was arrested by Deputy S. Waheed for the noise violation and obstruction of justice. He was released by the magistrate on an unsecured bond.  
  • DRUGS Mountain View High School, 7/18, 5:25 p.m. Deputy R.W. Stamm Jr. seized a THC vape from a juvenile student. The investigation was turned over to a School Resource Officer.
  • DUI Foxwood Drive/Staffordboro Boulevard, 7/17, 6:06 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a drunk driver complaint and located the vehicle in a fire lane on Foxwood Drive. The 49-year-old male driver was arrested for DUI and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Taylors Hill Way, 7/20, 12:59 a.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a Jeep joyrider was intoxicated. Epps observed the vehicle traveling in the center of the roadway and made contact with the driver. The driver advised he had two beers during a concert. The driver was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Boxelder Drive, 7/20, 9:03 p.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to a disturbance. The caller advised while picking someone up, a Tesla drove up to them and the driver caused a disturbance. The Tesla traveler admitted to consuming “one drink” and was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 
  • FRAUD Endicott Lane, 7/16, 12:06 p.m. Resident reported fraudulent charges on her account. Cabinet Maker Drive, 7/16, 8:02 p.m. Resident received a pop-up message on his computer which led to a demand for money to keep the computer from being hacked. Hemming Drive, 7/17, 12:29 p.m. Resident reported his personal information was fraudulently used to apply for a loan. 1500 Block of Richmond Highway, 7/17, 4:14 p.m. Resident reported her vehicle was repossessed last year. She has since received numerous toll charges from other vehicles using the same license plate. Circle K, 34 Prosperity Lane, 7/17, 7:08 p.m. A customer attempted to purchase a Budweiser and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes with a phony $100. The clerk recognized a “Motion Picture Use Only” stamp on the bogus bill and refused the sale. Brookeshire Drive, 7/18, 10:57 a.m. Resident reported a suspicious Facebook advertisement for land rental. The listing was found to be fraudulent and the resident did not suffer any financial loss. Park Cove Drive, 7/18, 1:58 p.m. Resident accepted an online job through Messenger that required her to put her own money into crypto wallets. The case is under investigation. Carter Bank, 55 Worth Avenue, 7/18, 3:15 p.m. A bank employee reported a customer deposited a check from a frozen account and then withdrew the money. Surveyors Way, 7/18, 8:55 p.m. Resident hired a person in June to do home renovations. The work has not been completed and the contractor will not refund the money. Deputy B.E. Vaughn attempted to resolve the complaint by speaking with the suspect, but all attempts have failed. Warrants are now on file for construction fraud.
  • HIT AND RUN 600 Block of White Oak Road, 7/16, 7:44 p.m. A driver left the roadway and destroyed several mailboxes. A black Honda Civic fled the scene but left behind a bumper with the tag attached. Deputy E.T. Osborn is working to identify the motorist. Manning Drive, 7/16, 9:47 p.m. Resident reported a well in his front yard was struck and damaged by a hit and run driver. Town Square Circle, 7/17, 7:53 p.m. Resident reported his unoccupied vehicle was damaged by a crash and dash driver earlier in the day. Garrisonville Road/Staffordboro Boulevard, 7/18, 7:00 p.m. Driver reported her vehicle was struck by a hit and run driver in the intersection. The suspect vehicle was described as a blue four door sedan with tinted windows. 
  • LARCENY Le Way Drive, 7/17, 11:19 a.m. Business reported a 20’ Bigtow Trailer and John Deere 35G excavator were stolen from the property. Elkton Drive, 7/17, 8:45 p.m. Resident reported personal property stolen from his vehicle. Town Square Circle, 7/19, 3:42 a.m. Deputy S.A. Edwards responded to a vehicle break-in. Multiple suspects observed a gun case inside a Camaro and broke into it but no firearm was within the case. Pratt Park, 120 River Road, 7/19, 5:34 p.m. Deputy A.E. Epps responded to a larceny. The victim advised his backpack, containing multiple electronics, was stolen from the backseat of a vehicle. DMV Auto, 3885 Richmond Highway, 7/19, 5:36 p.m. Deputy J.J. Holetzky responded to a criminal customer. Staff advised a “customer” arrived to test drive a Ford Focus. When the suspect did not return, staff reported it stolen. The vehicle was entered as stolen into a law enforcement database. Kohl’s, 1220 Stafford Market Place, 7/19, 7:00 p.m. Deputy E.C. Taylor responded to staff, who advised a party of three females stole over $360 worth of items. Town Square Circle, 7.20, 9:38 a.m. Sergeant R.K. Pinkard responded to a larceny. A vehicle was broken into and stolen. The vehicle was entered as stolen in a law enforcement database. 
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION Falmouth Baptist Church, 302 Colonial Avenue, 7/16, 2:35 a.m. Deputies observed an intoxicated juvenile trespassing on the church property. He was released to a guardian and Deputy E.T. Osborn will obtain petitions for underage possession of alcohol and trespassing. Target, 1090 Stafford Market Place, 7/16, 12:47 p.m. Deputy S.C. Martin responded to the store for a disturbance. He located an intoxicated 44-year-old man, who was arrested for public intoxication and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Blue and Grey Parkway, 7/17, 11:31 p.m. Deputy N.J. Amato III responded to a suspicious person call. He found a 28-year-old man staggering, with bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol. The tipsy ambler was arrested and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Amber Court, 7/19, 3:25 a.m. Deputy L.T. Ward was on scene of a disturbance when he was greeted by an intoxicated male. During his drunken display, the suspect would put his hands behind his back and demand to be taken to jail. Ward obliged and charged him with public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Wawa, 920 Wonder Road, 7/20, 2:38 a.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to a call of a male and female engaged in a verbal disagreement and the woman was now hiding in the bathroom. Sayegh made contact and discovered the male was intoxicated. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Wawa, 72 Austin Park Drive, 7/20, 4:43 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux responded to a caller who said a barefoot female who “didn’t look okay” was next to the roadway. It was discovered she had drank two four-packs of alcohol. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Holiday Inn Express, 560 Warrenton Road, 7/20, 4:46 p.m. Deputy A.J. Charoenthep responded to a shrieking suspect randomly screaming in the parking lot. Charoenthep made contact with the suspect, who was delighted to see him and hugged the deputy. When Charoenthep pointed out the fact he could smell booze coming off his person, the suspect corrected him advising “that’s not booze, that’s liquor.” He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 
  • TRESPASS Holiday Inn Express, 560 Warrenton Road, 7/17, 6:57 p.m. Deputy C.M. Sterne responded to the hotel for a 46-year-old female trespassing. The sunbather was released from the scene with a summons for trespassing. 7-Eleven, 3623 Richmond Highway, 7/19, 12:02 a.m. Sergeant R.S. Dominguez  observed a heated argument between a staff member and a 63-year-old male. The staff member said the man had trespassed at the business multiple times. The  suspect was issued a summons for trespassing and admitted to being in the wrong.
  • WARRANT SERVED Lowe’s, 299 Banks Ford Parkway, 7/19, 5:42 p.m. First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf and Sergeant E.E. West responded to a wanted suspect being found. Staff advised a suspect, known for stealing from the business, had returned. He was currently wanted out of both Stafford County and the city of Fredericksburg. Deputies took him into custody without incident. During a search, deputies discovered a controlled substance. The suspect was served on his 13 outstanding offenses and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Additional charges are pending.
