Expect daytime travel delays on Route 1 at the Falmouth Bridge over the Rappahannock River between Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg this Wednesday and Thursday.
VDOT says crews are continuing bridge inspection work to gather information needed for a future maintenance project of Falmouth Bridge. Intermittent northbound and southbound single lane closures will be in place on the bridge. Northbound lane closures are permitted between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Southbound lane closures are permitted between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
VDOT says a major rehabilitation project is currently in the design phase to improve the structure’s condition.
