It started this past weekend and continues throughout the rest of the summer, Stafford swift water rescue personnel will be out at the Historic Port of Falmouth/Falmouth Beach, as a water rescue standby to help any water emergency incidents. Fire and Rescue officials say Incidents are not uncommon when these and other areas along the Rappahannock River are crowded.
Some weekends will also include standby crews further up the Rappahannock River. Crews staffing these standbys assist dozens of people in a variety of ways each summer.
If you are using the Rappahannock, please help rescue personnel help you by wearing a life jacket and making sure your watercraft is suitable for the swift currents of the river. Photo courtesy Stafford Fire and Rescue
