The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) is pleased to announce the return of their family workshop series, FAM Fun! Back by popular demand, FAM has crafted more exciting programs for the whole
family. Families with elementary-aged children are invited to discover the museum in a new light.
Each workshop features exciting educational crafts, STEM challenges, interactive gallery activities, and a sneak peek into FAM’s collection.
FAM Fun! will take place throughout the summer at the FAM (907 Princess Anne St.) between 10 am -11:30 am. Each session will have a theme based on the Fredericksburg area’s artifacts and stories.
The FAM Fun! schedule is as follows:
Dinosaurs Discoveries! (June 5, July 10): Come on a dinosaur hunt with FAM! Dinosaurs roamed the same places we walk today. Families will explore FAM’s exhibit Stomp FXBC, make their own dinosaur print and much more!
Go to the Races! (June 12, July 17): Ready, set, go! Come and learn about the history of the Fredericksburg Soap Box Derby, create a team banner, and design your own balloon car. Will your family’s car win the big race?
Feel Better Fredericksburg! (June 26, July 24): Caroline Street used to be lined with drugstores like Goolrick’s and W.L. Bonds. Families will discover the cures that helped and the ones that didn’t and
enjoy their own tasty soda fountain treat!
FAM welcomes all children accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
Program tickets are $8 for non-members $5 for members. All attendees must purchase a ticket.
