Crime reports from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office May 1-6, 2024
- ASSAULT Foxchase Boulevard, 5/1, 9:50 a.m. Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to a disturbance. The victim advised his ex-girlfriend’s sister entered his residence. During their verbal disagreement, the suspect displayed garden shears. She was charged with unlawful entry and assault. She was issued permitted warrants. Gettysburg Court, 5/2, 10:38 p.m. Deputy J.A. Albright responded to a fight in the area. Her investigation revealed the suspect ripped the victim’s shirt and assaulted him. The suspect fled on foot prior to law enforcement arrival. The case is under investigation. Chick-Fil-A, 30 Wyche Road, 5/3, 8:42 p.m. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to an angry customer report. Staff advised a male was aggressive when he claimed his order was wrong and threw an unknown liquid onto an employee. Using camera footage of the incident, a person of interest was identified.
- BURGLARY Trek, 2773 Richmond Highway, 5/4, 11:37 p.m. Sergeant R.S. Dominguez and Deputy J.J. Suh responded to a business alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered the front door was shattered and a bike worth approximately $5,500 was stolen.
- DUI Intersection of Warrenton Road and Cambridge Street, 5/1, 5:43 p.m. Deputy J.A. Brooks responded to an unknown problem. The caller advised there was a driver asleep behind the wheel. When Brooks arrived, he located the slumbering suspect still snoozing softly. When the suspect’s beauty rest was complete, Brooks observed several signs of intoxication. He would also not have a driver’s license. The suspect was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, as well as, driving without a driver’s license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond. Intersection of Richmond Highway and Landmark Drive, 5/3, 10:41 p.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci and Deputy C.R. Newman responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction of travel. Deputies would confirm this when they observed the Ford traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the 34-year-old driver. The driver must have started his Cinco De Mayo celebration early for he had clear signs of intoxication, an open Modelo in the center console, and admitted to consuming 12 beers before driving from DC. The driver also had no driver’s license. He was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, failure to drive on the right side of the road, and driving without a license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond.
- FRAUD Dawson Drive, 4/30, 6:41 p.m. Deputy C.A. Osborne responded to a fraud. The victim advised she made plans with the suspect on Facebook to sell a play mat. The suspect arrived at the victim’s residence and paid with a counterfeit bill. Beavers Court, 5/2, 2:01 p.m. Resident reported two fraudulent charges were placed on her debit card yesterday. Ramoth Church Road, 5/2, 2:30 p.m. Resident reported fraudulent charges on her credit card over the last several months.
- HIT AND RUN Warrenton Road/South Gateway Drive, 5/2, 11:14 a.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to a hit and run near the intersection of Warrenton Road and South Gateway Drive. The victim reported a speeding black SUV sideswiped her vehicle in the construction area causing minor damage. Stafford Market Place, 5/2. 4:45 p.m. Deputy R.T. Kulbeth responded to a hit and run in the parking lot of Stafford Market Place. The victim’s unoccupied Toyota Tacoma was damaged on the driver’s side rear bumper. Buffalo Mo’s, 33 Wicomico Drive, 5/3, 8:35 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a hit and run. Witnesses advised a Jeep attempted to back out of a parking space when it struck an unoccupied vehicle twice before fleeing from the scene. The Jeep and its owner were later located by deputies. The driver had a revoked license. He was charged with hit and run, as well as driving with a revoked license. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on an unsecured bond.
- LARCENY Wawa, 3099 Richmond Highway, 5/1, 12:22 A.M. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to a larceny. Aquia Harbour Police Officers advised they were in the store when staff informed them a suspect just walked out with a case of beer. The suspect was located with the unboxed box of booze in an intoxicated state. He was charged with larceny and public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Stafford High School, 5/2, 12:45 p.m. Student reported shoes stolen from his backpack in the locker room. Vine Place, 5/2, 3:43 p.m. Resident reported his credit card was stolen and he found a fraudulent charge on his statement. Deputy J.J. Holetzky is investigating the case.
- PUBLIC INTOXICATION Spring Lake Drive, 4/30, 8:09 a.m. Deputy S.M. Eastman responded to a suspicious person call. Multiple callers advised there was an unknown female attempting to enter multiple vehicles. Eastman made contact with the suspect who had signs of intoxication. While conversing with Eastman, the suspect attempted to enter another vehicle that did not belong to her because Eastman’s “partner” told her to do so. While K-9 Ruby can do some amazing things, speaking is not one of them. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Giant, 317 Worth Avenue, 4/30, 7:00 p.m. First Sergeant M.R. Flick and Sergeant J.W. Hutcheson responded to an intoxicated person call. The caller advised a male at the self-checkout seemed on something. Deputies arrived and made contact with the suspect, who had notable signs of intoxication. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Meadows Drive, 5/4, 6:03 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett responded to a bike being napped. The victim advised her daughter’s bicycle was stolen yesterday.
- TRAFFIC OFFENSE Kings Highway, 4/30, 5:05 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux responded to a road rage incident. The victim advised that after passing a driver, that driver got angry and threw something at his vehicle. Quebedeaux was able to identify the suspect and made contact with him. After a bit of back and forth, the suspect admitted to throwing a water bottle at the victim. A warrant for throwing missiles at an occupied vehicle was submitted.
- THREATS Noble Court, 4/30, 4:07 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to a threats call. The victim advised he received threatening messages through Instagram by a known party. Warrants are pending.
- TRESPASS Shumate Lane, 5/1, 1:11 p.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a trespassing call. Despite multiple “no trespassing” signs and barbed wire fencing, a male entered onto the victim’s property. The incident was captured on camera. Deputies located the suspect who advised he “could not resist” the beautiful sights of nature on the victim’s property. Deputies also could not resist placing him in handcuffs when they discovered he was wanted for felony destruction of property. He was charged with trespassing and served on his outstanding warrant. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,500 secured bond.
- VANDALISM 100 Block of Truslow Road, 5/2, 9:41 a.m. Resident reported his mailbox was damaged overnight. Evidence at the scene indicated a vehicle left the roadway and caused the damage. Candlestick Drive, 5/2, 8:04 p.m. Resident reported the glass in their front door was damaged.
- WARRANT SERVED Popeyes, 253 Garrisonville Road, 5/2, 9:00 p.m. Deputy J.A. Albright investigated a serious assault that occurred last month on Executive Circle in North Stafford. The suspect was identified as George Attakora, 21, and deputies learned he was already wanted in Fredericksburg. Attakora was reported to be working at the Popeyes, so deputies responded there to serve the warrant. When deputies entered the restaurant, Attakora tried to flee out the back. He didn’t count on deputies stationed at the back door and was quickly arrested. He was served the Fredericksburg paperwork and additionally charged with strangulation, felonious assault and assault and battery. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
- WEAPON OFFENSE White Pine Circle, 5/4, 7:44 p.m. Deputies responded to a shooting. A resident advised they located a bullet hole in their residence. Luckily, no injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
