On Friday from 6:00am until 4:00pm, a collaboration of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, and Culpeper Sheriff’s Office conducted traffic enforcement on Route 522. The area covered began at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 522 in Culpeper County to the bridge separating Orange and Spotsylvania Counties on Route 522.
The enforcement was publicized in advance. The Orange Sheriff’s Office says many of the drivers on the highway were obeying the speed limit. During this traffic detail, a dump truck overturned near the intersection of Pine Stake Rd and Route 522, which closed a portion of the highway for an extended period of time. There were no injuries in the crash.
