Brock Road has been finished WAY ahead of schedule. VDOT tells us Brock Road reopened Saturday to through traffic after safety improvements were completed between Piney Branch Road and Cherokee Lane.
Crews cut down a crest in the road to improve sight distance for vehicles entering Brock Road from Piney Branch Road and Cherokee Lane. Two drainage pipes were also replaced underneath Brock Road between Cherokee Lane and Gordon Road.
VDOT’s Alexis Breeden says these maintenance activities were scheduled before the shoulders of Brock Road are slightly widened between Catharpin Road and Gordon Road later this year, followed by paving.
She says work was finished ahead of the scheduled March 25 completion date. The detour has been lifted.
