ASSAULT Waffle House, 580 Warrenton Road, 3/2, 2:17 a.m. Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to an assault. Staff advised three male suspects began assaulting a male victim inside the business. The parties were separated and the three suspects fled in a black SUV. Brentwood Lane, 3/2, 11:13 a.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to an assault with a weapon. When Deputy Cordes arrived, he was met by the victim who was actively bleeding from the head. While providing first aid, Deputy Cordes discovered the victim was assaulted by a roommate with a frying pan over a disagreement with the thermostat. She was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Musselman Road, 3/3, 2:15 p.m. Deputy J.A. Brooks responded to a disturbance at a vehicle storage lot. His investigation revealed a 39-year-old male customer from Maryland had trespassed onto the property and assaulted an employee. The suspect was arrested for both offenses and subsequently released by the magistrate on an unsecured bond. Belle Plains Road, 3/5, 5:44 p.m. Numerous deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of Belle Plains Road for a report of a disturbance with a weapon. One party was reported to have a sword, while his relative had a handgun. Deputy C.M. Sterne arrested one combatant for brandishing a sword, assault and battery and threats to burn. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The other party was arrested by Deputy D.S. Jett for reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with a firearm. This suspect received a $2,500 bond and was left in the custody of the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
FRAUD Lake Shore Drive, 3/4, 8:24 p.m. A resident reported unauthorized charges on her credit card in another jurisdiction. Greenbank Road, 3/5, 10:57 a.m. A resident reported two checks on her account were forged and passed for a loss of $1,500.
LARCENY Candlestick Drive, 3/4, 12:35 a.m. A resident reported jewelry and personal items stolen from her residence. Target, 25 S Gateway Drive, 3/4, 3:48 p.m. Loss Prevention reported a suspect switched bar codes on Pokeman cards to only pay $4.99 instead of $99. Deputy C.M. Sterne was able to identify the suspect and a warrant is on file. 3000 Block of Richmond Highway, 3/5, 7:34 a.m. Victim reported the catalytic converter was cut from his vehicle overnight. Telegraph Road, 3/5, 11:57 p.m. Resident reported both the front and rear tag were stolen from his vehicle. It is unknown if the theft occurred in Stafford or at a business in Woodbridge.
LOST CHILD Short Branch Road, 3/4, 4:50 p.m. Deputies responded to the subdivision for a missing 6-year – old. As search efforts were being ramped up, the child was safely located playing at a friend’s house.
TRAFFIC OFFENSE Barrett Heights Road/Garrisonville Road, 3/3, 6:14 a.m. Deputy A.J. Layug responded to a hit and run with injury. The victim was on a motorcycle when a white vehicle struck his bike and fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital for his injuries and the case is under investigation.
DISTURBANCE Intersection of Cambridge Street and Spring Valley Drive, 3/1, 2:46 p.m. A detective observed the passenger of a vehicle produce what appeared to be a firearm out the window. Additional deputies responded and conducted a high-risk traffic stop in the area of Centreport Parkway. When both occupants were detained, it was discovered the firearm was a toy Glock for their game of “senior assassins.” The juvenile occupants received a heavy lecture from both deputies, and their parents, on the dangers of playing such a game.
DRUGS Brooke Point High School, 1700 Courthouse Road, 3/1, 1:00 p.m. Deputy D.J. Taylor was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of drug activity. Staff advised they received information on a student selling vapes within the school. During an administrative search, staff discovered the student in possession of 11 THC vapes. Criminal complaints for underage possession and possession on school grounds were submitted.
LARCENY Waffle House, 580 Warrenton Road, 3/2, 12:30 a.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to a failed larceny. Staff advised a male suspect attempted to reach over the counter and open the register. When it did not open, the suspect fled in a black Mercedes.
PUBLIC INTOXICATION 7-Eleven, 3623 Richmond Highway, 3/2, 2:46 a.m. Deputies responded to a public intoxication call. Staff advised there was a group of intoxicated males attempting to purchase more alcohol. Deputies located the four suspects in the parking lot in an extremely intoxicated state. All four were charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Brooke Road, 3/2 8:44 p.m. Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to a disturbance. The caller advised a group of trucks were doing burnouts. While investigating the disturbance, the caller responded to investigate it himself, despite being in an intoxicated state. The caller advised he wanted to “come teach them” before deputies arrived. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. None of the reported drivers were located.
DUI Richmond Highway/Allatoona Drive, 3/5, 12:43 a.m. Deputy S.A. Edwards witnessed a driver pull out of the intersection and stop in the middle of the lane, blocking traffic. A traffic stop was conducted and the 20-year-old female driver from Stafford was found to be intoxicated. She was arrested for DUI and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Garrisonville Road/Patton Drive, 3/5, 8:12 p.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern responded to a crash at the intersection and determined the at-fault driver was intoxicated. The 29-year-old female from Woodbridge was arrested for DUI and reckless driving and held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
