Join Historic Germanna in celebrating Archaeology Month! Don’t miss the opportunity to join the archaeology team for a special behind-the-scenes walking tour on each Friday morning in October. The dig sites feature the ruins of the “Enchanted Castle” – home of Virginia’s Colonial Lt. Governor, Alexander Spotswood – as well as the potential sites of the 1714 Fort Germanna, which were constructed by the first German immigrants to Virginia, and the original Spotsylvania Courthouse. See and hear about the latest findings including, uncovering the herringbone walkway of the Enchanted Castle.
