The Caroline Sheriff’s Office says K9 Ike began his service in 2021 and has been deployed over 150 times, resulting in more than 25 arrests across multiple jurisdictions. He is proudly certified through the Virginia Working Dog Association and has been instrumental in efforts to combat drug activity throughout the region.
Throughout his career, Ike played a vital role in the mission to keep drugs out of the community. Officials say his keen nose, sharp instincts, and unwavering loyalty helped take illegal narcotics off the streets and assisted deputies in countless investigations.
Ike was also a regular at school events, where he helped reinforce the commitment to drug-free learning environments. From public demonstrations to safety talks and community outreach events, Ike was always a crowd favorite and a true ambassador of the CCSO.
In a Facebook posting, the Sheriff’s Office says:
More than just a working dog, Ike has been a trusted partner, protector, and beloved member of our CCSO family.
Now, it’s time for Ike to enjoy the good life—filled with naps, treats, and well-deserved relaxation.
Thank you, K9 Ike, for your years of service and dedication. You’ve made Caroline County a safer place, and you will always be part of this agency’s legacy.
