  • The 6,000-square-foot First Watch location at 10101 Patriot Highway in the Cosner’s Corner area of Spotsylvania County is expected to open April 14. It will feature a recessed patio and indoor bar with a total of more than 180 seats. Hours will be 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. First Watch is now hiring for the restaurant. The popular brunch restaurant is also planning a location at 1160 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping center.
  • Kickshaws Gluten-Free Bakery is planning to open a Richmond location by early summer at 4028 MacArthur Ave., which will be the business’ second store (the other one is at 1511 Central Park Blvd. in Fredericksburg’s Central Park).
  • 25-30 Espresso at 400 Princess Anne St. in Fredericksburg will now open at 4:30 a.m. on weekdays to serve early-morning rail commuters.
  • Blue Hour Vintage has opened at 809 Caroline St. in Downtown Fredericksburg.
  • A 152,000-square-foot assisted-living and memory-care community is under construction at 4525 Spotsylvania County Parkway near the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. Watercrest Senior Living is scheduled to open this summer (June is the target). It will have 106 assisted-living apartments and 36 memory-care units.
  • There were 74 homes sold last week in the Fredericksburg region, according to FAAR. The list includes a $2.6 million sale at Lake Anna and two other seven-figure sales. Check back weekly for the new list.

  • Galvin’s Delicatessen and River’s End Speakeasy are having a grand opening Wednesday, April 2. The businesses are at 216 William St. in Downtown Fredericksburg.

  • Ghana Cuisine & Bar is planned at 10153 Patriot Highway in Cosner’s Corner next to the Kusina Filipino Restaurant.

  • The Book Market FXBG, a mobile bookstore, recently had its grand opening.
  • Rappahannock Goodwill Industries recently sold the 12,000-square-foot retail building at 10070 Patriot Highway in the Cosner’s Corner area of Spotsylvania to Gen Properties for $2.1 million, according to Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer, whose brokers Wilson Greenlaw and Berkley Mitchell were involved with the sale. A Window World location is planned at the property.
