Following the success of its inaugural year, the Community Connections Expo returns from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on March 18 at the Fredericksburg Convention Center.
Hosted by local health nonprofit FAHASS (Fredericksburg Area Health and Support Services) in partnership with the Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care, the event aims to connect local families, people experiencing homelessness, and those within the ALICE population (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) with vital resources and services.
The expo unites nonprofits, businesses and service providers under one roof, creating a one-stop hub for essential community resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with local organizations, receive on-the-spot assistance and learn about available support programs.
Last year, the Community Connections Expo served 622 families with the support of 60 vendors, offering direct services including haircuts, health screenings, clothing distribution, and access to food. According to a press release, this year’s event will provide an even greater array of free services and resources to those in need.
“The overwhelming response to last year’s event proved just how critical this initiative is for our community,” FAHASS executive director Joseph Lyttle said in the release. “By bringing together service-minded organizations, we are fostering stronger connections and ensuring that those struggling have direct access to support systems that can improve their quality of life.”
