Anthony (Tony) Costo, 68, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025. A loving and supportive husband and father, his memory will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
Anthony was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and served in the United States Marine Corps for ten years while earning his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. After his military service, he resided in Fredericksburg, Virginia where he raised his family and worked as a software engineer. His career led him to spend some time in Houston, Texas, but his commitment to family brought him back to Fredericksburg. He loved a good book, movies, sunny vacations, gardening, tinkering with home projects, and seeing his family together. Anthony will best be remembered as a dedicated father and grandfather, providing support, guidance, and love to his three daughters and seven grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Costo; his three daughters, Katherine Geffen (Kenny), Jennifer Costo (Justin), and Stephanie Denton (Peter); his grandchildren, Elissa Bustamante, Corinne Geffen, Ryan Bustamante, Nathan Geffen, June Denton, Felix Denton, and Aiden Klingensmith; his siblings, Peggy Swan, Patricia McAllister, Antoinette Costo and Marc Costo; and nieces.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, William and Laverne Costo; and sister, Joan Dunn.
The family will receive friends and family from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A celebration of Anthony’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
