- A new Dominican and Italian restaurant called Mis Ojos Restaurante is planned at 1600 Princess Anne St. in Fredericksburg (formerly home to the now-closed Haley’s Honey Meadery). The owners, Maritza Bonilla and Orssy Hernandez, hope to open the restaurant by April 1 following some cosmetic renovations.
- A data center campus with about 1.5 million square feet of buildings is proposed on about 181 acres of undeveloped, wooded land just south of U.S. 17, north of the Rappahannock River and east of Interstate 95 along Olde Forge Drive in Stafford County. A rezoning is required for the project. The applicant is TC Blaisdell Owner LLC. An electrical transmission line runs through the property, which isn’t far from the historic Gari Melchers Home and Studio (Belmont).
- There were 58 homes sold in the Fredericksburg region last week, according to data from the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors. Check back weekly for the new list.
- A Duck Donuts location will open this spring at 1509 Central Park Blvd. in Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping center.
- Heather Boutique will close its Downtown Fredericksburg store at the end of the month after 19 years in business. The store is currently holding a sale on its fixtures and display items. The 2,200-square-foot space being vacated at 721 Caroline St. is available starting March 1 through Mitchell Properties.
- The re-opening of Carl’s Ice Cream in Fredericksburg is the subject of this week’s Biz Beat Clips video series. Among the nuggets: Carl’s is now taking credit cards.
- The City of Fredericksburg issued certificates of occupancy to the following businesses last week:
- BUMRUSH Vinyl Shop at 2225 Plank Road
- Angel’s Hair Braiding at 1944 Plank Road
- Lifepoint College at 1380 Central Park Blvd.
