Fast forecast

  • Some Sunday snow, then coldest air of season arrives
  • Sprinkles on Saturday
  • Few rounds of snow showers Sunday
  • Lows in single digits Monday and Tuesday nights

Enjoy Friday. While not warm, at least it will be near normal with sunshine and light winds.

Two systems will come through this weekend. The first brings spotty light rain in the afternoon and evening, as temperatures reach the 40s.

After holding near freezing Saturday night, the next system races through, bringing occasional snow showers between midday and evening on Sunday. Temperatures will fall through the 30s during the afternoon and quickly into the 20s after sunset.

Although only a coating to an inch of accumulation is expected by late Sunday, any snow that partially melts on the roads will freeze and turn icy after dark, making travel potentially dangerous early Sunday evening.

Monday through Wednesday will bring afternoons in the 20s and nights between 5-10 degrees above zero — easily the coldest air of the season. The most intense cold will retreat for Thursday and Friday of next week, but it will remain a few degrees colder than normal.

Expect normal temperatures next week:

Highs: Mid 40s

Lows: Mid 20s
