Rappahannock United Way is hosting a special event to mark the re-opening of its Prosper Tax Services tax sites for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) free tax preparation program. This program provides thousands of residents in our community with free federal and state tax preparation services.
At noon on Jan. 27, the Local Free Tax Assistance Site grand opening celebration will be held at 3310 Shannon Park Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
This year marks the 21st year that Rappahannock United Way has offered free VITA tax preparation services to individuals and families with a household income of $84,000 or less in the nonprofit’s service area, which includes Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George and Caroline counties and the City of Fredericksburg.

Rappahannock United Way Prosper Tax Services’ sites will officially open on the 27th of January. Public figures expected to be in attendance include leaders from the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce and representatives from Senator Tim Kaine’s office and Delegate Bobby Orrock’s office.
