Reverend Elizabeth Lovell Milford will be formally installed as pastor of The Presbyterian Church, Fredericksburg on January 12th at 3 p.m. during a service at the church at 810 Princess Anne Street.
The congregagation voted to call her to be its new pastor, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Rev. Allen Fisher in 2021. Rev. Milford began her ministry in Fredericksburg on November 10, as the first female to be called as Pastor and Head of Staff in a permanent capacity.
“I am so excited God has called me to serve this vibrant congregation and look forward to building on its rich traditions as we discover the new things the Spirit is doing among us,” she said in a press release. “My family and I are also thrilled to become a part of the Fredericksburg community.”
In a press release, Betsy Lewis, a member of the church’s pastor nominating committee said “Rev. Milford’s passion for Christian education, her dedication to global and local mission, her education and experience, make her ideal for the needs of our church at this time in our history. We thank God for helping us choose her, and for inspiring her to continue her ministry here.”
