An 18-year-old Stafford teen Stafford teenager has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle accident Thursday night on I-95 S in Spotsylvania.

State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey says the crash happend about 6:30pm, a mile north of the Massaponax exit. Coffey said a 1997 Lexus ES300 was heading south when it swerved to avoid slower-moving traffic. The Lexus driver lost control and collided with a tractor-trailer, also headed southbound.

Coffey says the impact caused the tractor-trailer to run off the right side of the road and strike several trees. The 43-year old driver from Dumfries was flown to VCU Health for treatment. His injuries are considered life-threatening.

Coffey said the Lexus driver, Ashton Faircloth, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Mary Washington Hospital. Faircloth was charged with reckless driving and failing to maintain proper control. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Coffey says the investigation continues.
