The next snowfall in the Fredericksburg Region will be much smaller than the last.
Occasional light snow begins Friday evening, and continues through daybreak Saturday. About an inch of snow is expected, but amounts may vary between a small coating and a couple of inches. Accumulation will be on the higher end south of Fredericksburg, into Spotsylvania and Caroline Counties.
Clouds break for sun on Saturday, and a cold breeze keeps the afternoon in the 30s. Next week looks cold and dry —- no precipitation through Friday — with days in the 30s to near 40 and nights in the upper teens to mid 20s.
The coldest spell next week comes in the middle of the week, and there are early signs of another significant storm — snow or even rain — toward the end of next weekend (Jan 19-20).
