Spotsylvania County Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management says Monday morning a 15-year-old, 70-pound lab fell into a 4-foot-deep, 24-inches wide hole dug by contractors for deck footers.
Engine 7 responded to the call. They say despite the tight space, they safely retrieved the dog.
A Facebook posting says:Â “Thanks to quick thinking and careful maneuvering, we were able to lift the dog to safety.”
Dallas was taken to the vet, but was back home by afternoon.
