-Start pumping those brakes when near school speed zones in Spotsylvania County, reports Jonathan Hunley. The board of supervisors voted unanimously to create an ordinance that allows for the installation and operation of photo speed-monitoring devices in school crossing zones.

-The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority is taking steps to establish a grant for businesses impacted by disaster, such as the recent fire that closed down multiple businesses at the Eagle Village shopping center. Bill Freehling and Joey LoMonaco talked to some of those business owners.

-In a surprise move, the Spotsylvania County School Board voted to rearrange its meetings to push public comments later in the agenda. The board also voted to change the instructional calendar and make Veterans Day a school day again, reported Kathy Knotts.

-Get to know Shawn Phillips, former owner of Spencer Devon Brewing in downtown Fredericksburg. Phillips is now running Good Steward Farm in Stafford County. Bill Freehling talks to him and his very special landscaping crew.

-The Jeremiah Community is gathering support from city officials, writes Joey LoMonaco. The Fredericksburg City Council approved two ordinances on first reading related to the project. It was also the final meeting for councilor Tim Duffy, who announced he will step down for personal reasons.
