- The vacant lot next to The Publisher Hotel on William Street in downtown Fredericksburg is temporarily being used for Christmas tree sales. Ten percent of the proceeds are being donated to Fredericksburg Main Street.
- A restaurant called Robles Cantina is planned in the 4,174-square-foot space at 1201 Emancipation Highway in Fredericksburg’s Eagle Village shopping center, according to an ABC notice on the door. That building formerly housed Country Cookin and Moment Diner. There is a Robles Cantina location in Tappahannock.
- Adventure Brewing Company has closed its location in Fredericksburg’s Eagle Village shopping center. The brewer’s location at 33 Perchwood Drive in Stafford County remains open.
- Laudenbach Brewing plans to open Dec. 14 at 45 Centreport Parkway in Stafford.
- The Fredericksburg Realtors Foundation this week donated $10,000 to Purple Heart Homes, which helps veterans with housing-related costs. The foundation raises money annually and uses the funds to assist local nonprofits involved with affordable housing-related initiatives in the region. Other recipients have included the 516 Project, Micah Ecumenical Ministries, Habitat for Humanity and Central Virginia Housing.
- SMDM Investments LLC sold the commercial properties at 606-614 William St. and 919 Barton St. in Fredericksburg last month to For Anything Properties 2 LLC for $2 million. SMDM had purchased the properties in August for $1.7 million. Jamie Scully of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer helped broker the sale.
