  • Chase plans to open its third local retail banking branch next month at 9659 Patriot Highway in Spotsylvania County’s Cosner’s Corner area. The bank recently opened a branch at 2931 Plank Road in Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping center, and it also has one off Garrisonville Road in Stafford County. Growth in the Fredericksburg-area market is part of Chase’s regional expansion plan that calls for 50 new branches and the hiring of about 500 people in the Greater Washington area by 2027.
  • An affiliate of Jarrell Properties Inc. last week purchased the 19,274-square-foot building at 400 Amaret St. in Fredericksburg. The sales price for the 1.46-acre property, which is known locally as the “Fredericksburg Auto Parts building,” was $1.875 million.
  • The University of Mary Washington earned a spot on The Princeton Review’s 2025 Guide to Green Colleges for sustainability in campus programs, policies and practices.
