Ahead of the Veterans Day holiday, Stafford County on Friday unveiled a new veterans support page on its website. The page includes information on services the county provides to veterans, including tax relief for disabled veterans, military exemptions and brick sales at the memorial. The page has been hosting a special social media wall celebrating Operation Green Light for Veterans, with expressions of appreciation to veterans.
A banner containing information on how veterans can access the new resource was unveiled off the Government Center’s Route 1 entrance with a few veterans accompanying Chairwoman Meg Bohmke and Supervisor Deuntay Diggs.
“Stafford is home to more veterans than any other county in Virginia and we greatly appreciate their service to the country as well as to our community,” Bohmke said in a news release. “Our goal is to better serve veterans and consolidate services in one location.”
The page will also include information on annual events such as the County’s Memorial Day Ceremony. It will also be used for future collaborations, either hosting events for or providing information for veterans.
