A Georgian-style home built in 1842 in Caroline County not far from U.S. Route 17 was the highest-dollar home sale in the Fredericksburg region last week.
According to data provided by the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors, there were 91 home sales last week in the region.
Easily the most-expensive sale in the past week was the Caroline home known as Prospect Hill, a 5,000-square-foot brick house built by Basil Gordon in 1842. The home sits on 70 acres on a hill overlooking the Rappahannock River Valley. The sales price was $1.5 million.
The next-highest sale was a townhouse on Mia Street in Fredericksburg near the Rappahannock River that went for $908,500.
The lowest-priced home that sold last week was on Hotchkiss Street in Spotsylvania County. That was the only home sale for less than $200,000 last week.
