- The New Post Golf Range in Spotsylvania County permanently closed Oct. 27 after nearly 25 years in business.
- Fredericksburg’s Free Lance-Star newspaper is relocating to a smaller space within the Central Park Corporate Center. The newspaper leased 2,213 square feet of office space at 1320-1440 Central Park Blvd. Jamie Scully and Sharon Schmidt of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the lease negotiations on behalf of the landlord.
- A Sheetz is planned on a 2.7-acre parcel at the corner of State Route 2 and U.S. 17 in the New Post development (near the monument sign at that corner). ARLS Properties LLC bought the parcel from Tricord Inc. last month for $2 million. Brian Cunningham and Carl Braun with Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite represented the seller.
- Silver Diner at the entrance to Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping center will open Thursday.

- Pediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus of Fredericksburg PC has leased 1,950 square feet of office space at 2201 Charles St., Suite 103, in the City of Fredericksburg from MG Properties Co. LLC. Ben Keddie with Coldwell Banker Commercial Elite represented the landlord.
- DRM 1 Incorporated last month purchased 3500 & 3502 Plank Road in Spotsylvania from The Properties-Battlefield LLC for $3.75 million.
- Andrea Perry, executive director at Spring Arbor Cottage of Fredericksburg, recently received the 2024 Assisted Living Administrator of the Year from the Virginia Assisted Living Association.
- The 4,592-square-foot building where Chick-fil-A is located at 1698 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg sold last month for $3.4 million, according to the October deed transfer report. The buyer was Paladin Company LLC.
- Two of the three live-work townhouses on William Street near Sedona Taphouse in downtown Fredericksburg sold last month, according to the October deed transfer report. The one at 541 William St. (next to Sedona Taphouse) sold for $1.99 million to 2535 LLC, and the one at 521 William St. (next to the ABC store) sold for $2.1 million to Danilo and Alona Orofino. Fredericksburg Fitness Studio, which is located at 2541 Cowan Blvd., has announced plans to open a second studio at 541 William St. The Orofinos will open a second location of Orofino Wellness on the first floor of 521 William (the other one is at 1403 Franklin St.), while making the upstairs their home.
- The Lester Group has appointed Jerry Pennington as vice president of Fortress Door Company, which has a significant presence in Spotsylvania.
