A Stafford County man died Tuesday after sustaining severe leg trauma as the result of a workplace accident at Norfleet Quality LLC, a mulch company located off Central Road in Fredericksburg.
A 911 call was made at 7:40 a.m. reporting an industrial accident involving an employee.
City police officers and EMS discovered Douglas Contreras-Zuniga, 57, suffering from a severe injury to his right leg and paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Virginia Department of Labor and Industry representatives responded to assist and the investigation was turned over to their agency.
