Micah Brown’s 1-yard touchdown run with 36.5 seconds to go in the game lifted the North Stafford High School football team to a 40-33 Commonwealth District victory over Riverbend Friday night.

Brown rushed for 77 yards and three scores on the night, finding the end zone on a 3-yard scamper in the second quarter and a 20-yard dash in the third.

Quarterback Chase Sullivan was also integral in the success of the Wolverines (5-1 overall, 2-0 Commonwealth), completing 14 of 26 passes for 263 yards with three touchdowns.  He hooked up with Kenaz Sullivan for scoring strikes of 9 and 80 yards, respectively, the latter of which tied the score at 33 early in the fourth period.

However, Cox answered the Shook TD with a 51-yard scoring run just 16 seconds later, sealing the victory for the Black-Hawks.
