The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office says a scam caller is impersonating a fake sheriff’s deputy.
According to an alert from the Sheriff’s Office, the caller claims to be a Deputy Evans, and he demands that individuals return the phone calls. The alert says, “Please note that we have no association with Deputy Evans, and the CCSO will NEVER contact you by phone to inform you about any outstanding warrants.”
The Caroline Sheriff’s Office says the scammer is calling from an 804 area code that ends in 8586. Residents are advised to not answer calls from that number.
