The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office says they are not soliciting donations for Operation Blue Christmas by phone. Blue Christmas is the yearly event where the Spotsy Sheriff’s Office collects Christmas gifts for needy families.
In a Facebook posting, the Sheriff’s Office writes: “We are aware of a scam targeting individuals claiming to be this office and asking for monetary donations to support Operation Blue Christmas, and we want to assure you that we are not calling any of our citizens for donations.”
If you wish to make donations you may do so by reaching out to the Spotsy Sheriff’s Office office to ensure your generosity is going to where it is intended.
