Weekend: More humid with t-showers
Dry, cooler, and less humid next week
- Sunny with low humidity on Friday
- Showers and storms expected this weekend, especially Sunday
- Cooler, less humid for a few days next week
Both days this weekend bring a good chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially Sunday. Humidity will also be higher this weekend with afternoons in the upper 80s.
Neither day brings all-day rain, and it may not be worth changing outdoor plans. But have a backup in mind if dark clouds gather, as some brief heavy rain is possible with any showers and thunderstorms that develop. Although the risk for thunderstorms with damaging winds is small this weekend, it is not quite zero.
After one more day with scattered showers Monday, a substantially drier and less humid period follows. Tuesday through Friday next week bring highs in the lower to middle 80s with practically no chance of rain. The lower humidity means the nights will cool off more than they have in several weeks, allowing lows to slide into the low 60s, with a few upper 50s possible Tuesday and Wednesday nights – especially in Spotsylvania, Stafford, and Caroline Counties.
