Stafford County crime report, Aug. 6-14

The following crimes were reported to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office from Aug. 6-14:

  • ASSAULT Castle Ridge Court, 8/9, 1:57 p.m. Deputy D.J. Ferrell responded to victim who advised he and his roommate got into a disagreement over rent and the suspect assaulted the victim with a knife. The victim was treated for minor lacerations as deputies detained the 33-year-old suspect. He was charged with malicious wounding and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
    -Goose Pond Road, 8/12, 5:50 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to an assault. A juvenile female arrived at a residence she was trespassed from in an attempt to fight a juvenile male. She forced her way into the residence and assaulted the male. The female received criminal complaints for breaking and entering, two counts of assault and battery, as well as, trespassing. Juvenile Intake was contacted and detained her. She was held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
  • ARSON Paynes Lane, 8/6, 8:00 a.m. Deputy S.M. Eastman and Fire Marshal D.M. Pappas responded to a vandalism. A house under construction had burn marks and an unidentified liquid poured on the floor.
  • BREAKING AND ENTERING Lakeview Drive, 8/7, 12:00 p.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a breaking and entering. The caller advised he observed a neighbor’s door broken. Within the residence Sullivan found illegible writing in spray paint.
    -Primary and Urgent Care, 231 Garrisonville Road, 8/9, 7:01 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea responded to a business alarm. No one was located inside the building when searched, but there was evidence someone was there. Using business cameras, a male suspect was seen unlawfully entering the business at 3:47 a.m.
  • CRIMINAL ACTIVITY Meadow Drive, 8/11, 5:44 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to a call of a 17-year-old in possession of a firearm. The firearm was stolen from New York in 1976. While the investigation is ongoing and the juvenile received a criminal complaint for possession of a stolen firearm. Juvenile Intake was contacted and detained the juvenile. He was held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
  • DRUGS Rappahannock Regional Jail, 1745 Richmond Highway, 8/10, 11:21 a.m. Sergeant K.P. Lytle responded to a suspected controlled substance in an inmate’s possession. The substance was seized.
  • DUI White Oak Road, 8/4, 1:03 a.m. Sergeant E.E. West observed a vehicle failing to maintain the lane of travel. She conducted a traffic stop and the driver had signs of intoxication, including slurred speech. The driver refused field sobriety tests and demanded deputies “just take me to jail.” He was charged with driving under the influence, refusal, and the traffic lane violation. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his willingness to participate in a bond hearing.
    -Mountains View Market, 1259 Mountain View Road, 8/7, 6:50 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard and Deputy V.R. Weadon responded to a caller who advised he was witnessing “the worst driving I’ve ever seen,” as a green truck was failing to maintain the lane of travel. Deputies made contact with the driver who had signs of intoxication, and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving, an open Modelo beer was visible in the center console, and he had no driver’s license. He was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, driving without a license, and the traffic lane violation. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
    -Fulton Drive, 8/7, 11:00 p.m. Deputy S. Waheed responded to a suspicious vehicle report. The caller advised a vehicle parked there moments ago but no one was getting out. Waheed discovered the vehicle was parked in a fire lane and made contact with the driver who had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming “a little bit” before she got behind the wheel. She was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -Buraq Auto Repair, 2053 Richmond Highway, 8/9, 11:49 p.m. Deputy J.A. Martin responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a driver was traveling 15 MPH under the speed limit and swerving off the roadway. Martin conducted a traffic stop. The driver had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming “a little bit” before she got behind the wheel. She was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -Best Western, 2868 Richmond Highway, 8/11, 1:08 a.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern and Deputy J.A. Martin observed a vehicle stopped on Richmond Highway with the driver slumped over. The vehicle was still in drive and the only thing preventing the vehicle from rolling was the driver’s foot on the brake. Deputies put the vehicle in park and woke up the driver. The driver had signs of intoxication, admitted to consuming beer prior to driving, and had a red cup sitting in the center console that had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from it. The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, drinking while driving, and stopping on a highway. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,500 secured bond.
    -7-Eleven, 2842 Richmond Highway, 8/12, 1:43 a.m. Deputy K.W. Suter was in the parking lot when he observed a truck traveling at a high rate of speed enter the property complex. Suter conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the suspended driver. The driver had signs of intoxication, an open container of alcohol next to him, and an expired inspection sticker. The driver was charged with driving under the influence, drinking while driving, driving while suspended, refusal, and the expired inspection. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond.
    -Draper Circle, 8/13, 6:40 p.m. Deputy J.J. Holetzky responded to a call of two neighbors in a verbal disagreement and one was now driving away. Holetzky located the suspect behind the wheel who had signs of intoxication. She would admit to consuming wine prior to getting behind the wheel. She was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content above .2. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
  • FRAUD Circle K, 34 Prosperity Lane, 8/5, 1:07 p.m. Deputy C.S. Harding responded to staff who advised a male suspect, described as a black male with dreads, attempted to pay with a counterfeit bill. When staff quickly identified the bill as fake, the suspect fled the area.
    -Public Safety Building, 1225 Courthouse Road, 8/7, 7:30 p.m. Deputy D.A. Robertson made contact with a victim of a fraud. The victim was contacted by someone posing as a security company inquiring about potential fraudulent activity. It was later discovered that money was fraudulently withdrawn from her bank and she was now locked out of her account.
    Wood Land Road, 8/8, 11:31 a.m. Deputy A.W. Sypolt responded to a victim who advised a JetBlue account was fraudulently opened in her name and she was stuck with the bill.
  • LARCENY Kings Crest Drive, 8/4, 4:15 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to a larceny. A juvenile reported while showing another juvenile a family member’s firearm, he stole it. The juvenile and firearm were located at his residence. Criminal complaints for grand larceny of a firearm and petit larceny were filed. Due to the severity of the incident, Juvenile Intake decided to detain the 17-year-old. He was held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
    -Amazon, 220 Centreport Parkway, 8/5, 2:33 a.m. Deputy K.P. Hall responded to a larceny. The victim advised the driver’s side window was smashed and cash was stolen from his vehicle.
    -Excaliber Circle, 8/5, 8:30 a.m. Deputy A. De Hoyos responded to a larceny. The victim advised he woke up to discover his Harley Davidson missing.
    -CVS, 450 Chatham Heights Road, 8/6, 10:53 a.m. Deputy D.R. Ludolph responded to staff who advised a male suspect stuffed his backpack with medication. The suspect was recognized from numerous previous shoplifting offenses and he was issued a warrant for shoplifting and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
    -YMCA, 212 Butler Road, 8/8, 12:59 p.m. Deputy N.D. Fonseca responded to a victim who advised his wallet was stolen while showering.
    -Penns Charter Lane, 8/9, 1:23 p.m. First Sergeant J.D. Floirendo responded to a FedEx driver who advised immediately after he dropped off a package at a residence, a male suspect carrying a handgun ran up to the residence and stole the package. The package was discovered to contain cell phones. The suspect fled in a white vehicle.
    -Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 8/9, 7:04 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed a suspicious male inside the business. He caught staff’s attention due to his big and puffy jacket, considering the enjoyably warm temperatures. After watching the suspect further, they observed him conceal $150 worth of items on his person. During a search incident to arrest, Baldi discovered he was carrying a concealed knife. The suspect was charged with shoplifting and carrying a concealed weapon. He was released by the magistrate on personal recognizance.
    -Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 8/10, 3:31 p.m. Deputy A. De Hoyos responded to staff who advised they observed a male suspect skip scanning over $170 worth of items. The suspect received a summons for shoplifting and was released.
    -Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 8/10, 5:15 p.m. Deputy J.A. Albright responded to staff who advised they observed a female suspect steal pants and sand. The suspect fled in a black Grand Cherokee.
    -ABC, 356 Garrisonville Road, 8/11, 2:03 p.m. Deputy C.S. Harding responded to a larceny. A suspect stole two bottles of Casamigos Tequilas before fleeing in a blue Nissan.
    -Frasier Drive, 8/12, 6:59 a.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a larceny of a vehicle. The victim advised she did not know her vehicle was stolen until she was woken by a call from a Prince William officer who found it on the side of the road.
    -Tobacco Hut, 44 Mine Road, 8/12, 8:10 p.m. Sergeant A.T. Leckemby responded to a victim who advised he lost his wallet in the area. During his search to find it, he discovered fraudulent activity on one of the missing credit cards.
    -Boyd Drive, 8/13, 3:29 p.m. Deputy X.D. Bates responded to a larceny. The victim advised he had a package of phones dropped off at his residence. Moments later, Ring camera footage showed a black male wearing a blue vest steal the package and flee in a white sedan.
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION Area of Richmond Highway and Hospital Center Boulevard, 8/7, 8:04 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to a caller who advised there was a male in his pajamas yelling at people. Bierfeldt observed the suspect stumbling and nearly fall into traffic. The suspect said he was headed to his girlfriend’s house, despite her house being southbound and he was traveling northbound. The suspect had obvious signs of intoxication. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -ABC, 9 Village Center Drive, 8/8, 7:23 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard responded to staff who advised a clearly intoxicated male entered the store with the intent to buy more alcohol. Staff took the suspect’s keys to prevent him from driving drunk. Hubbard found the male in an extremely intoxicated state. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -Wawa, 9 South Gateway Drive, 8/10, 6:47 p.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to a caller who advised there was a “very amped up” male screaming and appeared to be intoxicated. Newman made contact with the suspect who had signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking. He was charged with public intoxication and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -Intersection of Richmond Highway and Woodstock Lane, 8/11, 6:30 p.m. Deputy K.W. Suter and Deputy S.C. Martin responded to a suspicious vehicle that had been in the area for over two hours. Deputies made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, who had signs of intoxication and admitted to using whippets. Eighteen nitrous oxide canisters were found in the vehicle. The suspect was charged with public intoxication and inhaling chemicals. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -Wilderness Court, 8/11, 11:22 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a call of a female suspect who was extremely intoxicated and yelling at people. Vaughn made contact with the suspect, who had signs of intoxication. After refusing to listen to deputies’ commands, she was charged with public intoxication. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
    -300 Block of Garrisonville Road, 8/13, 2:22 a.m. Deputy S. Waheed responded to a caller who advised there was a male laying in the grass near the road. Waheed made contact with the suspect, who had signs of intoxication. The suspect was charged with public intoxication and obstruction of justice. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
  • TRESPASS 7-Eleven, 3623 Richmond Highway, 8/4, 12:13 a.m. Deputy D.A. Robertson responded to a trespassing. Staff advised a male that had been trespassed once again returned. Robertson made contact with the suspect and discovered he was wanted for trespassing and a larceny offense, both related to the business. He was served on both outstanding warrants, as well as, an additional trespass charge. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
  • UNATTENDED DEATH Ford T. Humphrey Public Safety Building, 1225 Courthouse Road, 8/5, 4:27 p.m. Deputies responded to the front parking lot of the public safety building for a shooting. A 36-year-old male was found deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The male was at the building for a scheduled interview with detectives. The case is under investigation.
  • VANDALISM Amazon, 181 Centreport Parkway, 8/12, 7:39 a.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to a call that 18 company vehicles had their front right tire punctured.
  • WARRANT SERVED Wawa, 72 Austin Park Drive, 8/4, 9:38 p.m. Deputy W.E. Trainor was assisting with a traffic stop when he discovered one of the occupants was wanted out of Prince William County for unauthorized use of a vehicle and failure to pay child support. During a search incident to arrest, Trainor located a suspected controlled substance in the suspect’s possession. He was served on his outstanding warrants and additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
