The following crimes were reported to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office from July 23-30:
- ASSAULT Southern View Drive, 7/24, 9:58 p.m. Deputy J.J. Holetzky responded to an assault after a disagreement over payment between the victim and two individuals hired for tree stump removal. The victim advised both suspects assaulted him prior to leaving. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
- BREAKING AND ENTERING Castlebury Court, 7/26, 10:41 p.m. Deputy J.J. Suh responded to an unwelcome guest. The victim advised while doing laundry she discovered an unknown male within her residence. The suspect was described as a thin black male, approximately 50 years old wearing a black hoodie and jeans. There were no signs of forced entry and the suspect was not located.
- DISTURBANCE Woodland Drive, 7/25, 2:05 a.m. Deputy C.A. Osborne responded to a complaint of a pick-up blasting loud music. When Osborne arrived, he discovered the truck was occupied by a male and an intoxicated juvenile. The male was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
- DRUGS Genesis Logistics, 705 Bradburn Place, 7/25, 8:37 a.m. Deputy C.M. Ramirez made contact with an employee who advised suspected controlled substances were located on the ground. The items were seized for destruction. Rappahannock Regional Jail, 1745 Richmond Highway, 7/25, 5:22 p.m. Deputy J.J. Holetzky responded to jail staff, who said they had located a foreign object inside a recently transferred inmate during a body scan. The bag contained suspected controlled substances. The drugs were seized and a warrant for felony by a prisoner was obtained. Warrenton Road in the area of the southbound I-95 exit ramp, 7/26, 7:54 p.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci was traveling on Warrenton Road when he observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. Demirci conducted a traffic stop as Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to assist. The driver had a suspended license and suspected controlled substances. She was charged with possession of controlled substances and driving while suspended. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. Red Roof Inn, 153 Garrisonville Road, 7/28, 6:00 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired registration and failure to use a turn signal. The two passengers loudly voiced their displeasure at being stopped. Deputy F.A. Martinez arrived with his K-9 partner, Mija. Mija alerted to the vehicle, providing deputies with probable cause to search it. Suspected controlled substances were located. Both passengers were charged with possession of controlled substances and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The driver was released with a summons for the expired registration.
- DUI 610 Mart and Tobacco, 395 Garrisonville Road, 7/21, 9:28 p.m. Sergeant A.T. Leckemby and Deputy S. Waheed responded to a caller who advised he observed a male drive to the business in an intoxicated state and urinate in the parking lot. When deputies arrived, the suspect was asleep behind the wheel with a bottle of Grey Goose. Deputies observed signs of intoxication. He was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, refusal, and indecent exposure. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Abberly Drive, 7/22, 10:21 p.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to a running vehicle that had been in the area for an extended period of time. When Newman arrived, he observed the driver asleep behind the wheel with a bottle of Miller High Life in plain view. The driver was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Motel 6, 401 Warrenton Road, 7/23, 12:56 a.m. Sergeant J.T. Forman and Deputy J.A. Martin responded to a caller who advised the driver of a truck looked “wrong” and his vehicle was off the roadway. When deputies arrived, they located the driver stuck in the mud, both physically and mentally. The 40-year-old showed signs of intoxication, an open container of alcohol, and admitted to consuming roughly three beers prior to driving. He was charged with driving under the influence and drinking while driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Stafford Wings, 432 Garrisonville Road, 7/27, 2:44 a.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a single vehicle auto accident. A driver drove through a chain link fence. He had signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming whiskey prior to driving. He was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 secured bond. Dairy Queen, 207 Kings Highway, 7/29, 6:24 p.m. Deputy A.J. Charoenthep responded to a caller who advised there was a female laying in the parking lot advising she was “not okay.” Charoenthep made contact with the suspect who had signs of intoxication and inside her vehicle, empty alcohol bottles. Using business cameras, deputies confirmed the suspect drove to this location before falling down due to her level of intoxication. She was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years, drinking while driving, and driving while suspended. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $10,000 secured bond.
- FRAUD Ford T. Humphrey Public Safety Building, 1225 Courthouse Road, 7/23, 10:22 a.m. Deputy J.L. Jones responded to the lobby for a walk-in report of identity theft. The victim advised her identity was used to not only add a phone line to her Verizon account, but to send money through Zelle. Ford T. Humphrey Public Safety Building, 1225 Courthouse Road, 7/24, 12:17 p.m. Deputy C.M. Ramirez responded to a victim who advised she received a call from a “Jeremy Brown” who advised he worked for the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect stated the victim missed jury duty and needed to pay in bitcoin so she would not be arrested. “Jeremy Brown” is not an employee with the Sheriff’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Office will never request any form of payment over the phone.
- LARCENY Stafford Nursery, 544 Truslow Road, 7/21, 7:20 p.m. Deputy C.A. Osborne responded to a larceny. A member of AAA replaced the battery of a vehicle for the suspect. When the conversation of payment came up, the suspect fled in his newly charged vehicle. Osborne was able to identify the suspect who advised he did not have the money “right now.” Charges may be sought at a later date. Ebenezer Methodist Church, 161 Embrey Mill Road, 7/21, 9:40 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux responded to a call that a suspect stole a victim’s mountain bike while he was inside the church. 2900 block of Warrenton Road, 7/22, 6:19 p.m. Deputy C.M. Sterne responded to a larceny and fraud offense. A company was asked to deliver $2,700 worth of gravel to this location and was paid on scene. The company would later be notified the payment was unsuccessful due to the credit card being reported stolen. Knollwood Court, 7/23, 8:11 a.m. Deputy B.W. Gildea responded to a stolen vehicle report. The victim advised he woke up to discover his Hyundai Elantra was gone. Gildea entered it as stolen through a law enforcement database and later was contacted by the Leesburg Police Department who found it. Dominion Power, 1485 Forbes Street, 7/23, 9:08 a.m. Deputy J.A. Buzzard responded to a larceny. Staff advised a padlock, container of copper, and keys to a forklift were stolen overnight. Home Depot, 305 Worth Avenue, 7/23, 2:29 p.m. Deputy S.M. Eastman responded to a larceny. Staff advised they had video of a larceny that took place on June 29 when two males stole over $1,500 worth of items. Amherst Avenue, 7/25, 11:22 a.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to a larceny. The victim advised his catalytic converter was stolen. Walgreens, 50 White Oak Road, 7/25, 6:27 p.m. Deputy A.J. Charoenthep responded to a larceny. Staff advised a female suspect exited the store with unpaid hair dye and a four pack of premixed margaritas. Lake Mooney Boat Launch, 500 Greenbank Road, 7/28, 11:45 a.m. First Sergeant J.D. Floirendo responded to a larceny. Someone smashed one of the victim’s vehicle windows in order to steal sunscreen and medicine. Duff McDuff Park, 75 James Ashby Parkway, 7/28, 1:01 p.m. Deputy D.R. Ludolph responded to two larcenies. Both victims had a window of their vehicle smashed and their wallet stolen from it. Both would then observe fraudulent charges on the stolen credit cards. Government Island, 199 Coal Landing Road, 7/28, 2:30 p.m. Deputy C.S. Harding responded to a larceny. As in the previous report, the victim had a window smashed and a wallet stolen.
- PUBLIC INTOXICATION Falmouth Post Office, 16 Linchfield Boulevard, 7/21, 9:33 a.m. Deputy S.C. Steinway responded to an intoxicated person call. Fire and Rescue staff advised they located an intoxicated male at the business. When Deputy Steinway arrived, he observed the intoxicated suspect shove his Four Loko beverages down a storm drain in an attempt to hide them. The suspect was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Lakewood Drive, 7/21, 7:29 p.m. Sergeant A.T. Leckemby responded to a male suspect who called dispatch and asked for deputies to “come get him.” Leckemby would locate the suspect in an intoxicated state. The suspect requested to be arrested and was charged with public intoxication. Due to a pending adjudication in reference to a recent DUI case, the magistrate ordered him to be held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 7/22, 9:07 a.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez responded to an intoxicated person call. A staff member was asked to leave due to his intoxicated state and instead began yelling at citizens in the parking lot. Martinez located the suspect who advised while he did not consume any alcohol, his ID “might” have some on it. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 7-Eleven, 3623 Richmond Highway, 7/24, 2:18 a.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to an employee who advised there was a passed-out male next to the trash can. Newman made contact with the suspect who advised he drank “a lot.” He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Worst Deli, 1120 International Parkway, 7,24, 8:47 a.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a caller who advised a male was intoxicated and trying to drive. Luckily, the caller took the suspect’s keys away. Sullivan made contact with the suspect who had signs of intoxication. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Red Roof Inn, 153 Garrisonville Road, 7/25, 6:39 a.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to an intoxicated person. The caller advised a male was in front of the business under the influence. When Sullivan arrived, he located the male, who he knew from a prior arrest, asleep next to the front door. He was arrested for public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Bright Beginnings Child Care, 85 Cleremont Drive, 7/26, 8:22 p.m. Deputy K.W. Suter responded to a caller who advised there was a female behind the business too intoxicated to stand. When Suter arrived, he located the suspect and a sea of empty alcohol containers. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Castle Ridge Court, 7/26, 11:36 p.m. Deputy J.A. Martin responded to a caller who advised there was a verbal disagreement between multiple parties. While defusing the argument, Martin discovered one of the parties was intoxicated. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Home Depot, 305 Worth Avenue, 7/27, 1:10 a.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern was in the area when he observed a male in the parking lot. Ahern made contact with the male, who had signs of intoxication and open containers of alcohol. He was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Waffle House, 580 Warrenton Road, 7/27, 2:49 a.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to employees who advised a male was refusing to leave. Newman made contact with the male, who had signs of intoxication. After being charged with public intoxication, the suspect was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Weis, 50 Foreston Woods Drive, 7/29, 11:00 a.m. Deputy S.M. Craig responded to an unknown problem. Multiple customers advised there was a female slumped over in the parking lot. Craig made contact with the suspect who had signs of intoxication. The suspect advised she was only napping. She would be allowed to continue her nap at Rappahannock Regional Jail where she was charged with public intoxication. Falmouth Beach, 401 River Road, 7/29, 8:20 p.m. Sergeant E.E. West and Deputy M.N. Sayegh located two individuals with alcohol. Both were intoxicated. One of the suspects was in possession of a fake social security card. Suspect one was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. The second suspect was charged with public intoxication and possession of a fictitious identity and held without bond. Sheetz, 15 Wyche Road, 9:50 p.m. Deputy W.E. Trainor responded to an unknown problem. Staff advised there was a male arguing with teenagers and begging females to twerk. Not surprisingly, the suspect had signs of intoxication. He also had a bag of stolen snacks from the business. He was charged with public intoxication, shoplifting, and obstruction of justice. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
- TRAFFIC OFFENSE Salisbury Drive, 7/28, 1:22 a.m. Sergeant R.S. Dominguez was on Staffordboro Boulevard when he observed a vehicle nearly collide with another deputy’s cruiser. After witnessing the near-miss, Dominguez conducted a traffic stop. The 15-year-old unlicensed driver assumed she could get out of a ticket by lying about her name and age. Criminal complaints for driving without a license and providing a false identity to law enforcement were filed as the vehicle was towed.
- WARRANT SERVED Quantico Marine Corps Base, 7/26, 8:24 a.m. Deputy K.R. Sprinkles responded to a warrant service. The caller advised a male wanted out of Stafford County was located and detained. Sprinkles served the suspect on his outstanding warrant and he was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
