Prince William Police are searching for a man who stole a Lexus SUV and ran over its owner, fatally injuring him, in the Montclair area on Saturday.
Police say 37-year-old Jose Galvan of Dumfries was approached by an unknown man the parking lot of the Oasis at Montclair Apartment complex about 6:53 p.m.
Police say the suspect got into the victim’s gold Lexus SUV, and began to drive in reverse. The victim, who was outside, grabbed onto his SUV before it struck a separate unoccupied car and moving forward. A Police Department release says that as the SUV continued forward, the victim was thrown off and subsequently run over. The victim was taken an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police were notified of his death on Monday.
Detectives are attempting to identify the suspect and locate the SUV, a 1999 Gold Lexus RX 300 with Virginia license plate TUW8710. The SUV has damage to the rear left bumper area, taillight assembly and possibly the rear left rim. It has two ‘Baby on board’ stickers on the rear.
