Stafford County crime report, July 10-16

The following crimes were reported to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office from July 10-16:

  • ASSAULT Triumph Lane, 7/9, 11:56 a.m. Deputy J.L. Jones responded to an assault. The victim advised a known party struck her before fleeing the scene. Deputy E.M. Brooks located the suspect at the Marathon Service Station, 3884 Richmond Highway. She was wanted out of Fairfax and Warren County. While being detained, deputies noticed signs of intoxication and located suspected controlled substances. The suspect was charged with assault and battery, public intoxication, possession of controlled substances and served on her outstanding warrants. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Pike Place, 7/10, 12:16 a.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern responded to an assault. The caller advised he observed a male striking a female. Ahern made contact and determined a physical altercation had occurred. The suspect was charged with assault and battery. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Mary Washington Primary Care, 422 Garrisonville Road, 7/10, 4:16 p.m. Deputy C.D. Quebedeaux and Deputy X.D. Bates responded to an assault. The victim advised while voicing her discontent regarding an appointment, a female suspect within the business assaulted her. The suspect left and returned again and continued her assault on the victim. The suspect was charged with two counts of assault and battery. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
  • DRUGS Americas Best Value Inn, 605 Warrenton Road, 7/13, 4:37 p.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci, Deputy C.M. Sterne and Deputy J.A. Albright responded to a trespasser at the hotel. The 25-year-old female trespasser tried to pull away from the deputies and was subsequently arrested. A suspected controlled substance was found in her bag. She was charged with trespass, obstruction and possession of a controlled substance and held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
  • DUI Wawa, 72 Austin Park Drive, 7/10, 5:19 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a male suspect was driving drunk and was at the Wawa. Bierfeldt made contact with the driver, who admitted to consuming beer and was at the business to purchase more. An open can of beer was in the vehicle. The driver was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, as well as, drinking while driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Timber Mill Lane, 7/11, 3:50 a.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to a suspicious vehicle in the area and determined the 41-year-old male driver was under the influence. He was arrested for DUI and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond. Andrew Chapel Road, 7/14, 10:12 a.m. Deputy J.L. Jones responded to a single vehicle crash in the area. The investigation revealed the 64-year-old male driver had left the roadway and struck a street sign. The driver was arrested for DUI and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 
  • FRAUD Kings Highway, 7/9, 3:38 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett responded to a fraud. The victim advised he attempted to use his EBT card only to discover the money on it was gone. Long Pointe Drive, 7/11, 1:04 p.m. Resident had her Facebook account hacked and her credit card information was compromised. Cork Street, 7/11, 2:21 p.m. Resident reported a check was stolen from her mailbox and the suspect forged her signature to cash the check. Sam’s Pizza and Subs, 432 Garrisonville Road, 7/11, 10:06 p.m. Staff reported a customer passed a phony $10. Deputy C.A. Osborne will attempt to identify the suspect from security video. Tamerlane Drive, 7/12, 12:40 p.m. Resident reported his personal information was fraudulently used to open an account with a cable company in another state. Harry Court, 7/15, 10:05 p.m. Resident reported his identity was fraudulently used several times for credit applications.
  • HIT AND RUN Butler Road, 7/11, 1:40 p.m. Driver reported she was sideswiped near the entrance to the YMCA by a red truck hauling a utility trailer. The other driver did not stop to exchange information. I-95 North 144.5 mile-marker, 7/12, 11:41 a.m. Deputy S.C. Martin responded to a hit and run crash on the interstate. The victim reported she was rear-ended by a grey Mercedes SUV which fled the scene. Garrisonville Road/Richmond Highway, 7/12, 11:34 p.m. Deputy S.A. Edwards responded to a hit and run accident at the intersection. The driver reported he was sideswiped by a large Jeep as he turned onto Richmond Highway. Warrenton Road/Celebrate Virginia Parkway, 7/13, 10:03 p.m. Driver reported he was rear-ended by a vehicle and had video footage of the accident. Deputy N.J. Amato III identified the suspect and charges are pending. 
  • LARCENY IHOP, 10 Simpson Road, 7/9, 11:42 a.m. Deputy A. De Hoyos responded to a larceny. A cab driver advised a female suspect ran into the IHOP before paying her fare. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing. Hartwood Church Road, 7/9, 12:17 p.m. Deputy D.J. Ferrell responded to a larceny. The victim advised honey and soap from his farm was stolen by an unknown female. Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 7/10, 2:18 p.m. Deputy C.D. Sullivan responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male was actively concealing items. Sullivan made contact with the suspect who had stolen over $1,700 worth of items. He was charged with grand larceny and shoplifting. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. Marble Oak Drive, 7/11, 9:43 a.m. Project manager of the new home construction site reported the theft of construction supplies. Staples, 295 Worth Avenue, 7/11, 12:12 p.m. A male suspect removed a scanner from the box and left the store without paying. 1500 block of Richmond Highway, 7/11, 4:38 p.m. Truck owner reported a jump pack was stolen from his vehicle in the last two weeks. Settlers Way, 7/11, 7:55 p.m. Resident reported the front tag stolen from his vehicle. ABC Store, 356 Garrisonville Road, 7/12, 4:12 p.m. Staff reported a female had concealed a bottle of Absolut vodka in her purse. Deputy B.E. Vaughn identified the suspect and responded to her home. The partially consumed bottle was recovered and the 36-year-old suspect was released on a summons. Duff McDuff Green Park, 7/13, 1:01 p.m. Several vehicles had their windows broken and personal property was stolen. Brooks Park, 7/13, 1:27 p.m. Victims reported the window of their vehicle was broken and their personal property was stolen. Fenwick Drive, 7/13, 2:06 p.m. Resident reported a package was stolen from her front porch. ABC Store, 50 N. Stafford Complex, 7/13, 5:31 p.m. Deputy E.L. Shelton responded to the ABC store for a report of five thefts of alcohol over the last several weeks by the same suspect. The suspect was identified as the same female from the ABC Store theft at 356 Garrisonville Road on July 12. An additional warrant for theft was obtained and served. St. Roberts Drive, 7/14, 12:11 p.m. Resident reported his vehicle was entered overnight and cash stolen. Cambridge Street, 7/14, 7:34 p.m. Resident reported a credit card was stolen from his wallet and used to make fraudulent purchases. Sheetz, 10 Washington Square Plaza, 7/15, 12:29 a.m. Staff advised two females stole alcohol and fled in a blue sedan. Deputy I.E. Baldi reviewed surveillance video and obtained the suspect vehicle registration. The case remains under investigation. Kohls, 1220 Stafford Market Place, 7/15, 5:04 p.m. Deputies C.D. Quebedeaux and X.D. Bates responded to the department store for two females shoplifting. Both suspects were in the immediate area and detained. Each suspect was released on a summons for the theft and $190 of merchandise was recovered. Call Court, 7/15, 6:34 p.m. Resident reported money missing from her cash app. Deputy A.E. Epps is investigating the case. Oak Lane, 7/15, 11:39 a.m. Resident reported his black 2018 Harley Davidson was stolen from his garage in the last two weeks. Wawa, 860 Richmond Highway, 7/15, 2:54 p.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to the convenience store for a disturbance. A customer was screaming for assistance in changing a flat tire on a silver Chevy HHR. Cordes discovered the Chevy was stolen from Maryland and the screaming man was arrested. The suspect was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail and the car was towed 
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION Area of Warrenton Road and Washington Street, 7/9, 5:03 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett responded to a disturbance. The female on scene admitted to consuming multiple shots and had signs of intoxication. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Fern Oak Circle, 7/11, 1:23 a.m. Deputies responded to the apartment complex for a disturbance. They encountered an intoxicated 43-year-old male and detained him, but the man broke free from a deputy and tried to escape. He was charged with public intoxication and fleeing from law enforcement. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,000 bond. Harpoon Drive, 7/13, 2:46 a.m. Deputy S.A. Edwards located an intoxicated pedestrian on Harpoon Drive. The 32-year-old male had directions to a home in Aquia Harbour on his phone but was walking the wrong way. He was arrested for public intoxication and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Falmouth Beach, 7/13, 4:53 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett observed an intoxicated man on the beach with several empty alcohol containers around him. He was arrested for public intoxication. During the ride to the magistrate, the suspect attempted to bribe the deputy with money to take him home. The 22-year-old man was charged with public intoxication, drinking in public and bribery. He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Pratt Park, 7/13, 9:18 p.m. Deputy S.A. Fulford encountered an intoxicated female on River Road near the park. She was arrested for public intoxication and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Lakewood Drive, 7/14, 12:38 a.m. Deputies responded to a disturbance at the apartment complex. As a large party ended, most of the revelers filed out peacefully. As the crowd left, deputies observed a fight and detained one suspect. He was released to a family member. Garrisonville Road/Richmond Highway, 7/14, 2:03 a.m. Sergeant J.W. Hutcheson observed an intoxicated 56-year-old male stumbling in the area. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.
  • TRAFFIC OFFENSE Liberty Knolls Drive, 7/11, 11:57 a.m. An ambulance crew responding to a medical emergency reported a reckless driver following them. Deputy C.D. Sullivan identified the driver as a 30-year-old male with a suspended license. Warrants are forthcoming. 
  • VANDALISM Ruby Drive, 7/11, 9:15 p.m. Resident reported someone drove through her yard causing damage to her plants. Norman Road, 7/12, 9:57 a.m. Homeowner reported his garage was spray-painted with graffiti. Tobacco City, 754 Warrenton Road, 7/14, 12:22 a.m. Deputies responded to the retail store for an attempted breaking and entering. An employee on site heard a loud noise at the front door and witnessed a suspect running away. The investigation revealed the suspect had used a paver from a retaining wall to attempt to break the glass door. Garrisonville Elementary School, 7/15, 10:29 a.m. School staff reported a juvenile student had entered the school and skateboarded through the halls and gym causing damage. The juvenile was identified by Deputy J.M. Smihal and is now facing charges of trespassing, vandalism and petit larceny.
  • WARRANT SERVED Malvern Lakes Circle, 7/9, 5:03 p.m. Deputy J.A. Buzzard was on the scene of a disturbance when he discovered one of the parties was wanted out of California. The suspect was charged with fugitive from justice and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond. Drew Middle School, 7/15, 12:47 p.m. Deputies located a vehicle associated with a missing person case in Prince William and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was wanted in Alexandria for failure to appear. He was arrested and transported to the Rappahannock Regional Jail. The adult passenger was identified as the missing person. She was found to be in good health and cleared from the missing person database. 
  • WEAPONS 1100 Block of Warrenton Road, 7/13, 12:36 a.m. Deputies responded to a shooting in the area. The victims reported their vehicle was struck by several rounds as they were driving through the area. Deputies located damage consistent with bullets and the case is under investigation.
