Celebrating July 4th at Pratt Park has been a tradition for numerous years. In order to have another successful and safe celebration, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has released some guidelines:
As in the past be aware that tents in the concert area, sparklers or other fireworks, grills, alcoholic beverages, and unruly or unsupervised pets are prohibited. The Sheriff’s Office says please do not bring these items.
There will be a number of road closures beginning at 9:00 p.m. to help with traffic control. Road closure one involves River Road at Gordon Street. River Road will be open only for traffic exiting the park towards Kings Highway.
Road closure two involves the intersections of Kings Highway and Chatham Heights Road, as well as, the intersection of Chatham Lane and Chatham Heights Road. These intersections will have restricted access to allow traffic to exit the park to River Road and then onto Kings Highway towards King George.
Road closure three involves Chatham Drive and River Road. This intersection will also have restricted access.
The fireworks show is expected to end just prior to 10:00 p.m. Once traffic has cleared Pratt Park, the roadways will be reopened. We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.
