Due to a water main break, Caroline County Public Utilities has issued a Boil Water Notice for residents using the Caroline County Public Utilities System in the Carmel Church Area. This includes residents of Caroline Pines and Belmont subdivisions.
The water main break and boil water notice have no impact on residents outside of Carmel Church or those served by private wells.
A Level 6 Water Restriction has been issued for all customers of the Caroline County Public Utilities System. Officials say the water main break and combination of hot, dry weather and extensive use of water for irrigation has caused water levels in the county system to drop to emergency levels. The following Level 6 Restrictions are in place:
-No watering of lawns and gardens.
-No washing of vehicles except for windows, mirrors, lights and spot removal of corrosive substances with a bucket.
