Beware of Spotsy scam

by | Jun 26, 2024 | Police and Fire, Spotsylvania, Ted Schubel

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office has received several reports of an individual who is impersonating a Spotsylvania deputy. Deputy Margarita Figueroa says this person is telling people that they have outstanding warrants or citations and if they pay a fee, the charges will go away.
Deputy Figueroa says it’s a scam.  She says the Sheriff’s Office will never call you about an active warrant and demand payment.
If you have questions as to whether a call is real, hang up, she says, and call the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office at 540-582-7115.
Or you can email Deputy Figueroa at:   [email protected]
