Due to the heat advisory this weekend, Micah will be operating a cooling shelter during the day for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Micah says anyone who does not have a place to shelter from the heat is welcome to come to the cooling shelter.
On Saturday June the cooling shelter will be at the Common Ground Meeting House (1915 Charles Street) 10 am – 4 pm. This air-conditioned space will be open, with bottled water and small snacks, as a space for unhoused people to take a break from the temperatures.
Community dinner will be held as scheduled at 4 PM at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.
