Emergency services around much of the region participated in the 2024 North Anna Power Station, Virginia Operations Exercise Dress Rehearsal drill. This full-participation, full-scale exercise established a learning environment for players to exercise emergency response plans, policies, and procedures as they pertain to Nuclear Power Plant accidents.
Officials say a full participation exercise is a complex event that requires detailed planning. Subject matter experts and local representatives from Spotsylvania, Orange, Caroline, Louisa, and Hanover counties and numerous agencies took part in the planning process and took part in exercise conduct and evaluation.
