Beginning today, weather permitting, a new traffic pattern will be in place as construction continues on a VDOT project to improve the intersection at Lee Hill School Drive and Old Dominion Parkway.
Crews today will be installing temporary pavement markings to create a roundabout traffic pattern to guide motorists through the intersection. The new traffic pattern will begin early Monday afternoon.
The concrete mini roundabout center island and median islands will be poured during the final construction phase. Message boards will be posted ahead of time to notify motorists about the upcoming new traffic pattern.
VDOT says you can continue to expect lane closures and periodic traffic control directed by a flagging crew as construction progresses. The project is scheduled to be complete by early November.
