It’s an art festival. A beer and wine festival. A street fair. Whatever you call it, it’s coming to downtown Fredericksburg on June 20 from 5:30 to 9:30pm.
The Summer Solstice Festival at Riverside Park, hosted by Fredericksburg Main Street, is being promoted as a unique event mashup celebrating local art, craft beers and local wines.
While organizers are still working on confirming all the artists and vendors, Main Street’s Executive Director Chris Allen was able to drop a few names for the Free Press.
Confirmed artists include Caroline Q. Murphy and Corgi Clay Art. Live music will include Tendersong (aka Tina DeSeta) and Jonathan Brown. Participating wineries include Backporch Vineyard, the Estate at White Hall Vineyard, Curio Wine Bar (Rogers Ford Farm Winery) and local breweries that have committed are The Port Oysteria & Brewery, Red Dragon Brewery and Southern Revere Cellars.
Food vendors will include Juan More Taco FXBG, Burg Charcuterie, and Slap Food Truck. More will be announced on the site in coming days.
Early bird tickets have been extended through June 9. Tickets are $35 and include a commemorative beer or wine glass plus two drink tickets. Ticket proceeds benefit Main Street’s initiatives dedicated to fostering economic development and vibrancy through events, marketing, business education programs and the preservation of the city’s rich history.
Festival sponsors are Germanna Community College, Shore United Bank, Hirschler, The Card Cellar, and Rambletype.
