Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Fauquier County. The crash occurred Friday (May 17), at 8:10 a.m. on Interstate 66 at the 24-mile marker.
A press release says a 2010 International tractor-trailer was traveling west on I-66 when an unknown vehicle made an unsafe lane change, which caused the tractor-trailer to run off the left side of the roadway, collide with a guardrail, and overturn in the median.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 54-year-old male from Suffolk, Va., was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The tractor-trailer was hauling 50,000 pounds of peas.
The crash remains under investigation.
