VDOT says paving work this week in the Fredericksburg area at night could slow your roll significantly between exit 130 (Route 3) in Fredericksburg and exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) in Stafford.

With temperatures now warm enough to pave, VDOT is putting down the final travel surface and pavement markings on I-95 for both the I-95 Northbound Rappahannock River Crossing and the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension. Construction on the River Crossing will be finished in May and the Express Lanes project will be finished in June.

I-95 northbound local lanes will be CLOSED north of exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) in Stafford from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. on the evenings of Tuesday, April 23-Thursday, April 25 (ending early Friday, April 26). All northbound traffic entering I-95 from Route 3 during these hours will be required to detour to Route 17 at exit 133, and travel to Route 1 northbound and enter I-95 northbound at exit 136 (Centreport Parkway).

Many on- and off-ramps at exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) in Stafford will be closed during the 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. or midnight to 3:30 a.m. window for paving.
