The following crimes were reported to the Stafford Sheriff’s Office from March 15-25.
  • ASSAULT Holiday Express, 3/15, 11:22 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt and Deputy S.A. Hensley responded to an assault. It was discovered the victim’s ex-boyfriend made contact with the victim in an intoxicated state. During an argument, the suspect assaulted the victim and a child. Deputies made contact with the suspect who was still in an intoxicated state and advised he consumed roughly 14 shots of whiskey. He was charged with two counts of assault and battery, and public intoxication. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $7,500 secured bond. Rappahannock Regional Jail, 1745 Richmond Highway, 3/22, 9:11 p.m. Deputy R.J. Kemp responded to an assault. An inmate assaulted another over a disagreement on religion. A warrant for assault and battery was obtained for the predominant aggressor. Cropp Road, 3/23, 3:10 p.m. Deputy C.R. Szentkuti responded to an assault. Ttwo roommates got into a verbal altercation over another female. The altercation escalated when the male suspect assaulted the female victim. He was charged for assault and battery and released on personal recognizance by the magistrate. 
  • DISTURBANCE Banbury Court, 3/20, 7:14 p.m. Deputy K.P. Hall responded to a suspicious person call. Victim one advised he noticed the suspect on his front porch and attempted to check on his welfare. Instead, the suspect claimed to live at the residence and attempted to gain entry. The suspect then went to victim two’s residence and attempted the same. When he failed again, he attempted to gain entry into victim two’s vehicle. Deputy Hall made contact with the suspect who had several signs of intoxication. He was charged with public intoxication, attempted unlawful entry, and vehicle tampering. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his ability to participate in a bond hearing. Circle K, 34 Prosperity Lane, 3/22, 8:45 a.m. Staff advised a female suspect was upset over the price of cigars and threw items around the store. Deputy C.S. Harding was able to identify the suspect by the driver’s license she left behind. A warrant for disorderly conduct was obtained. 
  • DRUGS Mountain View High School, 2135 Mountain View Road, 3/19, 6:50 a.m. Deputy H. Rivera was conducting his SRO duties when he observed a student vaping in the boy’s room. The vape was discovered to contain marijuana. A criminal complaint for possession of marijuana on school grounds was filed. North Stafford High School, 839 Garrisonville Road, 3/22, 11:05 a.m. Deputy R.L. Allen was conducting his SRO duties when he was informed of a vaping offense. Staff advised they entered the bathroom and observed a student with a vape in each hand. One was THC-based, one was tobacco-based. A warrant for marijuana possession on school grounds and a summons for underage possession of tobacco was obtained for the 18-year-old. 
  • DUI Woodstream Boulevard, 3/14, 1:40 a.m. Deputy J.W. Ahern and Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a suspicious person call. The caller advised an unknown party was attempting to enter a residence they did not belong to. When deputies arrived, they found the 20-year-old intoxicated suspect trying to enter a Honda, despite him having Ford car keys. The suspect admitted to driving and, after locating his vehicle, deputies observed an empty bottle of Fireball in plain view. He was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,5000 secured bond. Staffordboro Commuter Lot, 3/17, 2:01 a.m. Sergeant A.T. Leckemby was traveling on Garrisonville Road when he observed a vehicle without headlights on. He conducted a traffic stop and the driver advised she “maybe” consumed a cranberry vodka prior to driving, at a bar called Louie’s just down the street. After conducting field sobriety tests, Leckemby charged the driver with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content between .15 and .2, as well as, driving without headlights. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Sanford Drive, 3/17, 6:29 p.m. Deputy S.A. Hensley responded to a single vehicle auto accident. The caller advised the vehicle in front of them veered off the road and struck a tree head-on. Hensley made contact with the driver who advised he consumed alcoholic beverages before driving and blacked out before the crash. Within the remains of the truck, Hensley located four empty bottles of Bootleggers malt beverages. The driver was held at a local hospital for his injuries. Hensley issued summonses for driving under the influence and reckless driving. Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 3/17, 9:07 p.m. Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to a single vehicle auto accident. The caller advised a vehicle went over a parking space and into a ditch in the grass. Sayegh made contact with the driver and discovered he was too intoxicated to answer questions. Sayegh would also locate a nearly empty bottle of Hennessy within the vehicle. The driver was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his ability to participate in a bond hearing. Weis, 905 Garrisonville Road, 3/19, 5:41 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn observed a vehicle traveling 60 MPH in a 45 MPH zone and conducted a traffic stop in the grocery store parking lot. The driver was discovered to have a suspended license and an open case of beer. Vaughn also discovered the driver was in possession of a firearm and suspected controlled substances. The driver was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail where he was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of a firearm while in possession of controlled substances, drinking while driving, and driving with a suspended license. He was held on a $1,000 secured bond. Intersection of Warrenton Road and Olde Forge Drive, 3/21, 12:28 a.m. Sergeant B.U. Demirci and Deputy A.J. Charoenthep observed a Mazda with a license plate that belonged to a Volkswagen. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver advised he was attempting to make a DoorDash delivery. The driver had a revoked license due to a prior DUI incident, and an open container of alcohol within the vehicle. After conducting field sobriety tests, he was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a revoked license, DUI endangerment, and driving while restricted. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Robinson lane, 3/21, 4:45 p.m. Deputy R.L. Hubbard responded to a drunk driver complaint. The caller advised a known party seemed intoxicated and was getting behind the wheel. Hubbard made contact with the driver who displayed signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming two beers and “a lot” of medication prior to driving. The driver was charged with driving under the influence and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. 
  • FRAUD Briarfields Lane, 3/15, 4:16 p.m. Deputy S.A. Hensley responded to a scam. The victim advised she received a call from someone pretending to be with the Amazon Fraud Department. The caller said the victim’s Amazon account and bank accounts had been hacked. She was then transferred to someone posing to be the Inspector General of Baltimore who convinced her to purchase and provide iTunes gift cards. Tracey Lane, 3/16, 12:44 p.m. Deputy F.C. O’Neill responded to a scam. The victim advised she attempted to buy furniture through Facebook Marketplace. The seller advised they needed a deposit to hold the item. The victim did some research and discovered others posting about it being a scam. Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 3/19, 2:35 p.m. Deputy C.R. Szentkuti responded to a fraud. The victim advised her debit card information was fraudulently used at Target. Using camera footage, Szentkuti discovered two suspects making the fraudulent purchase; they fled the area in a white Chevrolet Silverado. West Briar Drive, 3/21, 11:58 a.m. Deputy A.J. Layug responded to a fraud victim who advised her credit card information was used at a gun shop in Ohio. She knew it was fraudulent and reported it to her bank. Rumford Drive, 3/21, 2:59 p.m. Deputy N.D. Fonseca responded to a scam. The victim advised she was contacted by someone posing as a sergeant with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office who said the victim missed jury duty and needed to transfer money to him. After doing so, the victim contacted the real Rowan County Sheriff’s Office to confirm the transaction, only to be informed that sergeant hasn’t worked there in a long time and it was a scam. 
  • LARCENY Stafford County Landfill, 489 Eskimo Hill Road, 3/14, 1:45 p.m. Deputy S.A. Russo responded to a larceny. The victim advised his boat that was stored at this location was stolen. Using cameras, Russo discovered the suspect who stole the boat was a male driving a red pick-up truck. Dollar Tree, 1100 Stafford Market Place, 3/14, 6:53 p.m. First Sergeant A.I. Assur responded to a larceny. Staff advised they observed a male consume a drink and put the empty bottle back on the shelf.  Assur contacted the suspect, who confirmed he had no intention of paying for the drink. He was issued a summons for shoplifting. Saint Clair Brooks Park, 130 Butler Road, 3/16, 6:03 p.m. A victim reported her vehicle had a window shattered and her purse was stolen. Bethel Church Road, 3/17, 9:40 a.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to a larceny. The victim advised his vehicle was broken into and cash was stolen from it. American Auto Mall, 249 Chatham Heights Road, 3/18, 2:42 p.m. Deputy J.A. Buzzard responded to a larceny. Staff advised a male suspect was looking to purchase a Mercedes and drove off in the vehicle. The stolen Mercedes has been entered into a law enforcement database. Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 3/18, 4:33 p.m. Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a shoplifting in progress. Staff advised a male was in the bathroom concealing items. The suspect was stopped and detained by Vaughn. Not only was $380 worth of items recovered, but it was discovered the suspect was wanted out of Hampton and Prince William County. During a search incident to arrest, Deputy Vaughn located suspected controlled substances. The suspect was charged with shoplifting, possession of controlled substances, and served on his outstanding warrants. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Lowe’s, 299 Banks Ford Parkway, 3/19, 3:11 p.m. Staff showed Deputy B.W. Gildea video of two suspects stealing over $400 worth of items. Gildea and staff knew both suspects by name since they had previous larceny reports at this location. Shoplifting warrants were obtained. Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 3/19, 4:57 p.m. Deputy I.E. Baldi responded to a family affair larceny. Staff stopped a mother and juvenile daughter for concealing over $100 worth of skincare items. During her conversation with the juvenile, Deputy Baldi discovered she was still actively hiding items. The adult suspect was charged with shoplifting and two counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was released on her summonses. The juvenile suspect received a criminal complaint for shoplifting. Target, 25 South Gateway Drive, 3/21, 7:45 p.m. Deputy K.F. Bierfeldt responded to a larceny. Staff caught a male suspect stealing Yu-Gi-Oh cards, Legos, and the classic Rubik’s Cube. It was also discovered the suspect had trespassed for shoplifting before. The suspect admitted to shoplifting to “feed my greed.” He was given summons for shoplifting and trespassing. Sheetz, 1175 Garrisonville Road, 3/21, 9:34 p.m. Deputy K.L. Steffenhagen responded to a larceny. Staff advised they had video of two males stealing beer.  Steffenhagen noted the vehicle’s license plate and responded to their residence. At the residence, Steffenhagen found the vehicle, stolen drinks and two suspects. The 18-year-old received a summons for shoplifting while the juvenile suspect received a criminal complaint for shoplifting. Clarks Lumber & Millwork Inc., 1195 International Parkway, 3/23, 12:15 p.m. Deputy D.R. Ludolph responded to a larceny. One of the businesses vehicles had multiple parts stolen from it. Kohl’s 1220 Stafford Market Place, 3/23, 3:11 p.m. Deputy F.A. Martinez responded to a shoplifter. Staff advised a female walked out with over $2,200 worth of items. Using store cameras, Deputy Martinez discovered the suspect fled the scene in a green Subaru Forester. 
  • PUBLIC INTOXICATION Marriott Towne Place Suites, 2772 Richmond Highway, 3/15, 2:13 a.m. Deputy C.R. Newman responded to a vandalism. The caller advised a male was punching her vehicle. Newman arrived and observed the suspect still assaulting the Acura. The suspect had clear signs of intoxication. He was transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was charged with public intoxication and vandalism. He was held pending his ability to participate in a bond hearing. Setter Circle, 3/15, 5:01 p.m. Deputy S.A. Hensley responded to a disturbance. It was discovered a female arrived at this location in an attempt to fight another female. Bystanders prevent the suspect from doing so. Hensley made contact with the suspect who advised she had been drinking “a lot” all day. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Garrison Woods, 3/15, 7:34 p.m. Deputies responded to a fight and made contact with two individuals in the parking lot. Their account of the fight was inconsistent, and both were determined to be intoxicated. Both were charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober.  7-Eleven, 1947 Richmond Highway, 3/18, 11:00 p.m. Deputy S.A. Fulford responded to a disturbance. It was advised an intoxicated female who was involved in an earlier incident fled from Stafford Hospital. Fulford located the suspect at 7-Eleven with open containers of alcohol. She was charged with public intoxication and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until sober. Heatherbrook Lane, 3/22, 1:50 p.m. Deputy J.L. Jones responded to an intoxicated person call. The caller advised they observed a male stumbling around near the road. Jones made contact with the suspect who advised he was walking home after being released from Rappahannock Regional Jail that morning. He was returned to jail, charged with public intoxication and held until sober once again. 
  • ROBBERY Ferry Road, 3/23, 5:19 p.m. Deputy D.S. Jett responded to a robbery. The victim advised he was hanging with a friend at their residence when a third party got upset over a CashApp transaction. That suspect became aggressive, intimidated the victim and took his phone. Warrants for robbery by intimidation and extortion were obtained. 
  • THREATS Merlin Way, 3/21, 1:36 p.m. Deputy J.E. Cordes responded to a threats report. The victims advised a known party was outside their residence making threats on their lives. A warrant for profane threatening language was obtained. 
  • TRESPASS Walmart, 217 Garrisonville Road, 3/18, 1:05 p.m. Deputy S.M. Eastman responded to a trespassing call. Staff advised a male suspect they knew  from multiple prior incidents was back. Eastman watched camera footage and confirmed the suspect’s identity. A warrant for trespassing was obtained. 
  • VANDALISM TJ Maxx, 1260 Stafford Market Place, 3/22, 7:16 p.m. Deputy T.G. Croson responded to a tire stabbing. The victims advised an unknown male came up to them and their vehicle with a knife. He stabbed one of their tires before fleeing. 
  • WARRANT SERVED Wawa, 860 Richmond Highway, 3/14, 12:35 a.m. Deputy A.J. Charoenthep was on his way home when he received information of a wanted suspect being within the business. Charoenthep identified the suspect due to his distinct tattoos and attempted to detain him. The suspect resisted, but then with the help of an off-duty Fredericksburg Police Officer, he was detained. He was served on his outstanding warrants and held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Intersection of Warrenton Road and Banks Ford Parkway, 3/19, 4:41 p.m. A wanted man was observed by deputies getting into a vehicle at a Warrenton Road motel. As the vehicle traveled on Warrenton Road, Sergeant B.U. Demirci and Deputy C.M. Sterne responded to assist. Detectives and deputies conducted a high-risk stop and placed the suspect in custody. He was wanted out of Stafford County for a capias with underlying charges of three counts of possession of controlled substances, two counts of possession of controlled substances while in possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, and felon in possession of ammunition. He was promptly placed into Rappahannock Regional Jail where he was held without bond. Wyne Drive, 3/20, 1:35 p.m. Deputy A.M. Pitts responded to a wanted suspect being located. The reporting party advised a male wanted out of Essex County for obtaining money by false pretense and North Carolina for felony probation violation was at a residence on Wyne Drive. Deputy Pitts located the suspect and detained him. During a search incident to arrest, he was found to be in possession of suspected controlled substances. He was served on his outstanding warrants and charged with possession of controlled substances. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. 
  • WEAPON OFFENSE Northbound I-95 near mile marker 142, 3/20, 7:14 p.m. Deputies responded to a road rage incident. The victim advised while traveling northbound a vehicle attempted to pass her using the left shoulder. After exchanging obscenities, the suspect threw something at the victim’s vehicle and brandished a firearm. Deputies located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was charged with brandishing a firearm, destruction of property, and maliciously throwing an object at an occupied vehicle. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,000 secured bond.
