The Fredericksburg Fire Department says this is actually a method that is used to report snow accumulation to the National Weather Service. Fire officials say these were used during our most recent snow event, and they have been cleared with the anticipation we could see some more snow in the next couple of days. They are placed at four locations throughout the City: Walker Grant Middle School, Dixon Park, Memorial Park, and the Ballfields/ Community Garden across from Wicklow Drive.
