Thanks to the collaborative effort of numerous law enforcement agencies, the homicide suspect from the December 30th shooting in South Stafford has been apprehended.
On December 30th at 12:23 a.m. deputies responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Deacon Road. The 33-year-old victim was transported to the hospital, but passed away a short time later.
Detectives quickly identified the shooter as Darren Jamal Newman, 29, of Westmoreland County and the manhunt began.
With the assistance of numerous law enforcement agencies, Newman was taken into custody today in Richmond, Virginia. He is being held without bond at the Richmond Jail.
