Over the past years, Axel and his partner, Senior Deputy Tyler Nimon, have handled challenges and contributed not only to the safety of the citizens of King George, but to surrounding jurisdictions as well. K-9 Axel was honored for skills in tracking, apprehensions, article searches, and narcotics detection.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheriff Giles signed an agreement giving Senior Deputy Nimon ownership of Axel as of January 1st.
